"Reaper," breathed Jack, pushing me further into the corner. He exchanged a look with his brother, who had sank to his knees on the cold wooden floor.

"Take her..." cried out Kane, keeping his ace facing the floor. I felt goosebumps rise on my arms from the tone of his voice. It was pain stricken, dying, drained seemingly of all life. Jack shook his head, his line of vision fixated on the Reaper.

"I failed my flying exam.. the spells won't let me fly.. I'm as useful as she is right now. Kane, can't you take us?" he cried. Jack seemed seriously freaked, whcih was one thing I couldn't get over. That and the fact that Kane looked like he'd had his soul ripped out of him. Kane shook his head slowly, keeping his face lower. The Reaper's unseen gaze seemed to be aimed right at us, as it started to slowly creep towards Kane.

I tried to get out from behind Jack, pushing at him, but he wouldn't let me through his arms. The Reaper was heading right for Kane, yet Jack wasn't trying to stop it? Or even get Kane away from it?

Suddenly, I couldn't even stand it anymore, pushing Jack fully aside and causing him to almost fall out the gaping hole in the flying tower. I dashed to Kane, trying to get him to move, pulling on his arm, but it was as if he was a statue.

"Kane! You have to move! We have to run!" I cried. The Reaper was only a few centimetres away from Kane. It seemed to grow bigger and bigger as it neared Kane, like it was already feasting on him. I gasped, as it came only millimetres away from his still body, it's depths growing deeper and deeper, threatening to swallow him up.

In an instant, I stepped in front of it's path and in an instant, there was a flash of white, brilliant light. I felt nothing, saw nothing, heard nothing for several moments, before the world slammed back into me.

There stood the teacher from the hall, the youngest, the teacher for blue.

Prudentia.

I looked behind me, and saw that Kane was slumped on the floor, unconscious but seemingly unharmed now. I looked back to the teacher, and saw him exchange a glance with Jack.

"Mr Hardy... stay with your brother. I don't believe that the Reaper will be coming back any time soon," he spoke in a superior and frightening voice, one that was clear and pristine, but powerful and almighty at the same time.

"Yes sir," murmured Jack, kneeling at Kane's side and looking out the flight tower. As if in answer to Jack's unsaid question, the teacher replied;

"I've banished him of course... but's a worry that he got in here in the first place... As soon as Kane wishes to resurface, please tell him to meet me in my office," Jack nodded, then looked at me.

"Is Laurie going to stay here too...?"

"I think it is best she comes with me. Her father wouldn't want her to be hanging around after the Reaper has made such a surprise entrance," he smiles at me, taking my hand, "If it does come back... use this,"

The teacher tossed a pure, white crystal to Jack, who readily caught it. It was shaped just like mine, and I felt it the chain around my neck shift , so that my crystal was pointing in the direction of the teacher's. I felt the teacher tug at my hand, before I began to follow him
