"Colin your dad's looking for you. He's called like a million times today and wants to know where the hell you've been for the past three days."

Katie had knocked but heard no answer from him so decided to enter his office anyway. She came in with her head down looking at the paperwork in her hand. She almost jumped when she realised Colin was not the only one in his office. Colin's new girlfriend had been sitting on his lap, their mouths locked in a deep kiss.

"Woah Katie, have you ever heard of knocking?" Colin pulled away from the kiss he was sharing and sat up a little straighter.

"Hi Laila." Katie said, not looking at all phased by the interruption she had caused. "And yes, I have actually. I knocked twice and there was no answer." Laila gave the other woman a small smile before kissing Colin on the cheek.

"So you just decided to come in anyway?" he sounded baffled by her actions.

"I figured you had probably fallen asleep again, it's what you usually do when you arrive back after your three or four day benders." Katie replied dryly. Laila whispered something in Colin's ear and giggled before standing up.

"I was just going anyway."

"I'll see you tonight." Colin said before she leaned down and gave him another kiss, one more than Katie thought she did not need to see.

"Bye Colin." Laila's voice was so sweet it could probably rot right through your teeth. He smacked her on the behind before she left, a wide grin on her face. Katie gave him a look that showed she was unimpressed but said nothing until she heard the door closing behind his new girlfriend. The pair's eyes were locked on one another's but she was the first to break the silence.

"You're a pig you know that?" Katie commented on his last action and it made him laugh loudly.

"Leila doesn't seem to mind."

"Of course she doesn't." She rolled her eyes, falling directly into his trap.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Colin tried to draw more out of her, he wanted her to feel jealous although he knew he was being ridiculous. This was the closest he had ever been to seeing her show the smallest bit of jealousy since he and Leila had gotten together.

"Nothing." She mumbled to herself before looking at him then. "We have more serious things to talk about at the minute other than your girlfriend."

"Oh here we go." He rolled his eyes, knowing exactly what was coming next.

"Where the hell have you been Colin?" Katie asked in exasperation, not moving her eyes even an inch away from his.

"I've just been a little- er... busy." He scratched the back of his neck with his hand then. It wasn't exactly a lie but was definitely an inadequate excuse.

"Too busy to come to work?" she sat down and placed the papers on his desk before crossing one leg over the over.

"Yes."

"Colin." She sighed, saying it like she had said it so many other times before. It made him feel guilty, but he had been too busy having a good time with Leila and his other friends to come to work. "You need to focus Colin. How long is it going to take you to realise that this job isn't going to last if you keep disappearing for days on end without any contact."
