"So she hasn't told you anything?" David asked, quite shocked by Vinny's confession about his relationship with Katie.

"Well, a few things here and there. But not much at all, it's making me wonder whether I even want to know more or not. If she hasn't told me then maybe it's because it's bad."

"Why should it matter if it's bad or not? She's your girlfriend it's not like it's going to change anything." Colin tried not to glare at Vinny but David could see how hostile his friend was becoming when Vinny talked about his girlfriend.

"I just don't know if I'm ready or not."

"It's her past not her future. It won't affect you whatever it may be."

Colin tried his best not to become enraged by Vinny's constant talk about Katie. He had heard enough about their trip and relationship all together to last him a lifetime. He knew that it was pure jealousy, but he couldn't shake it which only left him full of envy after hearing about how sweet she was or the things she did that made Vinny know she always had his back. If only Katie realised who Vinny really was, she would run a mile and never look back.

"You sound very defensive Colin." Vinny narrowed his eyes at the other man while David merely watched with anticipation, his head knocking back and forth between Vinny and Colin as they challenged each other. "Something I should know about?"

"Nothing at all." He lied but entered into a stare with Vinny, not yet ready to back down.

"You've been working with her for so long, surely you've found out something about her past. She won't even tell me about her mom or dad."

Colin was quite taken aback when he found this out, as Katie had told him a lot about her broken family life and what it was like to live in a girls' home for most of her childhood and teenage years. She had been a little reserved at the start but Colin realised after talking to Vinny that he knew a lot about her life before Chicago. He was confused by this and why she was keeping things from her boyfriend since the pair seemed to think their relationship was perfect.

"Look Vinny, if Katie wants to keep things from you, it's not my problem. They're her secrets to tell, not mine."

"So you do know something?" David still remained quite, absorbing the whole conversation entirely. He could feel the tension building in the booth but couldn't escape it as he would need to get past one of the two men in order to leave.

"I don't know much and I don't have to tell you anything. If she wants you to know, you'll know. It wouldn't be fair on Katie-"

"I'm your friend Colin, why are you so concerned about Katie? It's not like she's going to find out."

"It's not my place." Colin said with finality in his tone yet Vinny persisted.

"You two seem a lot closer than you make out to be..." He sounded suspicious, which made Colin let out a small laugh.

"What's wrong with that?"

"Well, it is his girlfriend." David decided to speak up, earning a glare from Colin.

"What are you going to do? Make her stop hanging around me so much? She's my PA, we work with each other. I'm the only reason you two even met in the first place."

"And you were pissed about that, that I was even talking to her that night."

"You're starting to sound a little jealous Vinny?" Colin almost smirked then, knowing that the tables were turning. Katie had shared more with her boss than with her own boyfriend, it must have made Vinny angry, as he seemed to be reaching boiling point. "Don't you trust her?" He added, savouring the feeling of tormenting Vinny with Katie.
