[Chapter 60]: Desperate

"Katsu... ki..."

He couldn't hear you either, but he knew very well the way your lips moved when you said his name.

What do I do now... This can't be happening. He's the one person I can't see.

You bit your lip and furrowed your brow, eyes sinking.

Don't. Don't come here. Don't chase after me.

The look on your face made Katsuki's stomach twist. He hated it.

"League of Villains, you're outnumbered. Come quietly or face judgment." All Might glared, his eyes glowing. And then his gaze shifted to you. "(Y/n)... Please don't fight and come quietly as well."

His tone had taken a 180 when calling out to you. Right there, you wanted to give up and just go to them.

But Takashi...

"Like hell. We'll be taking out leave now." Dabi mumbled before swinging his arm and sending out a wall of dark flames. The military and teachers covered their eyes and took a step back. Dabi and Toga turned and took off towards the stairwell. "(Y/n), come."

What do I do? Do I go with Katsuki and the heroes? But what will become of me then? Will I be locked up for the rest of my life?

Takashi will be killed.

Before you could think further, your legs began moving on their own, following after Toga and Dabi.

"Those flames are going to be troublesome in this enclosed area." Aizawa growled before pulling his goggles over his eyes.

"I won't be able to use my full strength either in a building like this. Shit." All Might added. The flames still lingered.

"I'll suck it up. Everyone, please stand back-"

"DIEEEEE!"

Katsuki had leapt forward, cutting Thirteen off. He sent out a blast, dissipating the fire just enough to where he could propel himself through.

You couldn't help but turn back at his voice, noticing how quickly he had closed the distance between you two. He was close, close enough to where you could see that familiar fire in his eyes.

"YOUNG BAKUGOU STOP!" All Might shouted.

"I swear to god this kid..." Aizawa groaned.

Katsuki came barreling towards you, his hand stretched out.

"(Y/N), GET THE FUCK OVER HERE!"

Time felt like it froze when you heard him shout your name. Your feet stopped moving and your hand reached out towards him instinctively.

I want to take his hand-

"(Y/n), don't forget what happens." It was Dabi who snapped you out of your trance. His voice was cold and commanding.

This is the worst.

Your hand shifted upwards so that your palm faced Katsuki. Your eyes flashed at him, giving him a warning. But he didn't halt. As you sent a blast towards him, Katsuki propelled himself sideways with an explosion.

He managed to roll to his feet and stand slowly, eyes locked in yours. Thirteen had just finished sucking in the fire, allowing the rest of the group to make their way forward.

"Men, take aim now!"

As the smoke cleared, your eyes shifted down the barrels of the guns now pointing at you. It was terrifying.

It was just like that day.

Fear flashed in your eyes and out of sheer panic you sent a blast above you, quickly launching yourself up through the created hole.

"SHE'S GETTING AWAY, QUICKLY MEN AFTER-" The military men began tumbling over one by one. It was Midnight, having peeled back part of her costume to use her quirk and force them all to sleep.

"I don't remember you being permitted to use lethal force..." She glared at them.

"(Y/N) WAIT! LISTEN TO ME DAMMIT!" Katsuki screamed, before launching himself up and after you. But his advance was foiled by Toga leaping up, knife in hand. His eyes shot to her, noticing her deranged look as she swung her knife at him.

"Now now, you can't take (y/n) from me yet! We haven't even gotten a chance to play." Toga growled maliciously. Katsuki clicked his tongue before dodging quickly. Before the girl had a chance to strike again Aizawa had wrapped his alloy around her body.

She pulled against him, creating a kind of tug of war.

"Bakugou, we're leaving (y/n) up to you. Don't do anything too rash." Aizawa spoke sternly at the boy. "However, watch what you say. We can't have her losing control in a place lik-"

"She won't." Katsuki's nodded before blasting himself up once more.

"I don't think so-" Dabi muttered about to send his flames out towards Katsuki. But before he had a chance, All Might appeared before him in an instant.

"I think you have bigger problems."

-Military Headquarters: 19th Floor-

The corridors were long and shrouded, lit only by a few emergency lights. They reminded you a lot of the test held in the Ground Beta buildings. But this was real. All of this was real.

"I gotta get to the roof. I'm sure Dabi and Toga will just meet me there..." You muttered to yourself painfully before clutching your side. "Fuck... I'm still so weak..." Blood cascaded down your lips from your nose, dripping onto the floor.

Your thoughts flashed back to the men who had aimed their guns at you.

They were... They were going to kill me... Dammit all-

"(Y/N)!" Katsuki's voice echoed through the corridors. 

He had followed you, of course he would. 

But you notice the tenderness behind his cry. It wasn't angry, it was desperate. Your eyes widened and a near almost audible gasped escaped you before you took off down another hallway.

"I know you're fucking scared okay. I can read your face like a damn book." He approached the drops of blood on the floor, his eyes falling upon them and burning with anger. "Dammit all... (Y/n), that damn piece of shit who you thought was your brother... He's been lying to you this whole fucking time."

What?

You had your back pressed up against one of the corridor walls, still avoiding Katsuki's line of sight.

What the hell... is he talking about?

"I know those assholes threatened to kill him, and that's why you're here. But it was all just a ploy dammit..." Katsuki stood for a moment, his fist clutching tightly as his body quaked. "THAT DAMN BASTARD SOLD YOU OUT. DON'T FUCKING BLEED FOR HIS SAKE ANYMO-"

 You could no longer think straight.  

A blast of raw energy came hurling towards Katsuki, causing his rant to be cut short as he quickly leaped out of the way. You had walked out from behind the corner, eyes burning into him in pure anguish.

"You must be pretty fucking desperate to spout lies like that."
