It hurts...

It hurts so much...

On Kirishima's back, you felt safe. But each step he took escalated the pain. A few hours into the trek, the worst part had become the sudden and rapid onset of fever. From there, chills, nausea, lightheadedness; it seemed to set in all at once.

"You doing okay back there (y/n)?" Kaminari's voice was filled with concern

"Y-Yeah..." Your answer was weak and shaky. "Hanging in there... Although, I am feeling a bit tired."

"Why don't we take a break again?" Sero offered. Kirishima looked over his shoulder in concern.

"No, that's all right." You insisted. "Honestly, I could probably fall asleep right here."

With the help of Sero's tape, you stayed upright on Kirishima's back without much effort. He was warm. If you weren't deliriously sick, it would probably be more comfortable than a bed. Even though your friends had insisted against it, they kept walking. Deep down, Kirishima, Mina, Sero, and Kaminari knew that it was becoming a race against the clock. Your eyelids felt heavier and heavier.

Katsuki... I hope you're safe. I just want you to be safe.

You took slow steady breathes as your body began to succumb to sleep. It had only taken a minute or two.

"She's burning up..." Kirishima grimaced. "We need to pick up the pace. If we hurry, we can get there in an hour or two."

"Whoah whoah, crossing the city on foot while staying completely hidden from enemies can't be rushed." Kaminari said.

"He's right. We'll be in a lot more trouble if an enemy spots us." Sero added. Kirishima ground his teeth together.

"This isn't just about the radio tower anymore!" Kirishima's voice escalated and his pace quickened. "Our priority right now should be (y/n)!"

"Red Riot, calm down." Mina stepped out in front of him. Kirishima stopped. "We don't even know if other heroes will be at the radio tower! If there are no doctors, no supplies, or no one with a healing quirk, (y/n) will be in trouble no matter what! Also, if you're rash, we'll ALL be in danger."

Kirishima couldn't help but panic a bit. Not only were you one of his best friends, but Katsuki was his best friend. The thought of something happening to you tore him up, not only for his sake, but for the sake of Katsuki.

"She's right." Sero said, placing a hand on the troubled red heads' shoulder. "Let's come up with a proper plan."

Kirishima and Mina raced forward quickly, leaping over rubble, prioritizing speed over being discrete. They were the most agile and athletic of the group. Kirishima attempted to run as steady as possible due to you being strapped to his back. Above them, Sero effortlessly maneuvered between buildings with Kaminari hanging onto him. They kept their eyes out for anything or anyone they may dare to approach their friends below. The team was moving at an incredibly swift pace.

"I see it!" Sero yelled to the group.

Around the corner, the skyscraper with the radio tower atop it became clear as day.

"Oh thank god we're here." Kaminari sniffled, arms wrapped around Sero's shoulders tightly. "This is so embarrassing."

Kirishima's mood lifted, he quickened his pace, Mina following closely beside him.

"Hang on (y/n)! Almost there!" He huffed.

Immediately after the words left his tongue, a lone hand reached out from behind the rubble Kirishima had just passed. His eyes rotated towards it, widening in surprise, the world suddenly seeming to move in slow motion.
