"Aiding in a criminal organization and destruction of federal property. These are the charges you will be pleading for today. Do you have any objections Miss (y/n)?" The judge ruffled through his papers before glancing up at you.

"No sir."

"I DO-"

Aizawa smacked the back of Katsuki's head to shut him up quickly. You grunted and covered your face in embarrassment.

God dammit Katsuki.

The judge glanced over in annoyance at the sudden outburst. He was an older man, with bushy grey brows that appeared to be chronically furrowed. He cleared his throat and pushed up his glasses before continuing.

"Very well. We will now review your constitutional rights-"

"Actually I have something I'd like to present sir." Your eyes shot back at your military supervisor, Mr. Furukawa. He stood up and straightened out his suit. "Are you aware of the incident that occurred over a year ago?" His sudden words made your stomach flip. Katsuki instantly started fuming. You could practically hear him grit his teeth from across the room. "How could you even propose giving this murderer a proper trial-"

"That's quite enough from you Mr. Furukawa." Saito shut him down instantly. "I understand you're a military big shot, but in this courtroom my word is law." Your eyes widened in near disbelief.

He's... Defending me?

"I did my research prior to this arraignment. You call her a murderer, but as far as I'm concerned it was provoked and involuntary. (Y/n) has already served time with the military and is still currently under watch. It's not relevant to this trial." Furukawa growled angrily at the judge's words before sitting back down. "I've been doing this a long time. Perhaps you should do more research into federal law before you speak next time."

You sat there almost speechless. The judge averted his attention back towards you.
Aizawa grinned slightly. Katsuki was even shocked by his words. The blond leaned over to whisper to his teacher.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm fucking ecstatic that he's shutting this piece of shit military asshat up, but why?"

"First off, watch your language." Aizawa grumbled quietly, causing Katsuki to click his tongue in annoyance. "Secondly, his name is Kosuke Saito. He's a friend of a friend, but he's well known for being fair and unbiased." He crossed his arms and shifted in his seat. "I told him everything about (y/n)'s incident, but defending her was his call alone."

"So if he knows she's innocent, why the hell are we here?" Katsuki growled impatiently.

"Saito alone doesn't have the jurisdiction to pass judgment on her. In the end, it will be up to the jury." Aizawa responded. With a huff, Katsuki begrudgingly turned back forward in his seat to continue listening.

"Now then, back to the matter at hand. Your case trial will be held two days from now at 10 am. A jury of 6 citizens will be present. Can you afford a lawyer Miss (y/n)?"

"Um... No sir..."

"I see. Very well, I will assign you a lawyer." He scribbled a few notes on his document before continuing. "Moving on. In terms of prosecution, you're looking at up to 5 years in a juvenile detention facility if found guilty of aiding a criminal organization. The destruction of federal property carries an extra year."

Your heart tightened in your chest.

Up to 6 years...

Biting your lip, you prevented any sobs from escaping. Katsuki was doing no better than you at the moment. He wanted to scream. But he was calm enough to realize that anymore
outbursts would only make things harder on you.

"Depending on the circumstances prior to the crime your sentence could change. However, that is up for the jury to decide." Your fingers clawed into your legs as if trying to grasp something in fear of falling apart right then and there. "Do you have any questions?"

"No sir..." The words nearly came out choked. You just sat there for a moment, eyes locked on the floor. The room was silent.

"Alright. Lastly is the matter of where you will be staying until your trial. I doubt you want to stay another day in a military prison cell." Saito grumbled. Your eyes shot back up at him.

"Now wait a second, she has to remain in my custody-"

"Mr. Furukawa, the defendant is allowed to hold residency where they please until they are deemed guilty." Once again, he was shut up by Saito "Miss (y/n), do you have any family you can stay with?"

I guess I really don't at this point...

Through your mind flashed an image of Takashi. You swallowed thickly and attempted to speak up.

"I... I don't-"

"SHE DOES!" The was a loud yell from behind the courtroom door. Suddenly it was kicked open, revealing a very excited Mitsuki and a much quieter Masaru following close behind her.

"Honey was that really necessary..."

"MOM, DAD?! THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Katsuki practically jumped up from his seat.

"WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE YOU LITTLE SHIT! WE'VE BEEN LISTENING THE WHOLE TIME!" She exclaimed with a big smile on her face. The judge glanced up.

"Excuse me, this is a private arraignment. Who are you?" He squinted back at her, adjusting his glasses once more. Mitsuki walked forward down the aisle toward you.

"Names Mitsuki Bakugou! I guess you could say I'm (y/n)'s future mother in law!"

Your jaw dropped in sheer embarrassment.

"YOU DAMN OLD HAG! W-WATCH WHAT YOU'RE FUCKING SAYING!" It was hard to take Katsuki's anger seriously through his violent blushing.

"Uhhh I don't really know what's going on but do you wish to stay with the Bakugou's until your trial (y/n)?" The old judge questioned while rubbing the back of his neck.

Your eyes darted over to Mr. Furukawa and bore into him. If looks could kill, he could accurately call you a murderer.

"I'd be more than happy to!" You stood quickly and grabbed the handcuffs you had been escorted in with. You tossed them onto the suited man next to you harshly before turning.

"A-ASSAULT! SHE JUST ATTACKED ME-"

"I didn't see anything. This court is dismissed. See you all in two days." Saito muttered, hobbling out of the room in the process.

You sprinted down the aisle to Mitsuki, her arms splayed open for you to practically leap into. She held you close and rubbed the top of your head gently. Masaru walked up and placed a hand on your shoulder. Both of them gave you a reassuring smile.

The gathering was quickly joined by Aizawa and Katsuki, the blush on the blonds face still lingering.

It was a small victory in the grand scheme of things, but at that moment it meant everything.
