"Bakugou remember, (y/n) is extremely unstable right now. If you tell her the truth about Takashi, she'll most likely retaliate."
Aizawa had spoken those words to Katsuki before they ascended the base. The words echoed back in his mind. He had anticipated this reaction. He knew you would lash out. But he also knew you would reveal yourself.
Slowly the boy came to his feet, taking in every new detail he could see. Your skin had lost its vibrancy, now littered with new bruises and scars. Your eyes weren't beaming and full of life like he remembered. They were petrified.
"The fuck... Do you think you're saying to me... Why- HOW COULD YOU LIE TO ME LIKE THAT KATSUKI!? YOU OF ALL PEOPLE-" Your voice escalated quickly to sheer panic. Suddenly you crouched down, pressing your palms against the floor as you began breaking apart the cement. "LEAVE! JUST GO AWAY DAMMIT!" Katsuki's face remained stern and unwavering, but his eyes were soft.
Don't look at me like that.
Throwing your arms forward, a wave of energy ripped through the cement. The sporadic movement wasn't exactly aimed but it still required Katsuki to send out a blast underneath him to dodge. Switching directions, he closed the distance between you instantly with another explosion behind him.
"THAT DAMN BASTARD SOLD YOU OUT!"
Katsuki's words echoed through your head. You brought your arms up in a defensive position in front of your face.
That can't be true... There's no way?! He's my brother, my only family...
Your frantic thoughts had distracted you from the fact that Katsuki was directly in front of you. He slammed his palm against your stomach and sent out an explosion, causing your body to be thrown back against the wall like a rag doll. The ripping of cracking cement sounded in your ears
Takashi cares about me right?! He's been by my side this whole time... What reason could he have to hate me?!
Your body sunk down onto the floor. There was a ringing in your ears, and you weren't sure if it was from the force of Katsuki hit or if you were just hearing things. Shakily you opened your eyes. He just stood there.
"Takashi's mother, father, and sister were killed in the accident. He's been staying by your side in hopes of watching you suffer." Katsuki's tone was stoic and calm. He spoke as he slowly walked forward towards you.
"NO, STAY BACK... THERE'S NO WAY!" You stood weakly and pressed your back to the wall. "PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU... I HAVE TO SAVE HIM! THEY'RE GONNA KILL HIM KATSUKI, DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?!"
"He made a deal with those assholes. They get to exploit your power, and in return, he gets to watch you fight the people who you care about."
I've been suffering this whole time... For him.
That can't be...
This is too cruel...
You cried out and launched forward at Katsuki, lifting your leg and swinging at him in a roundhouse kick. But Katsuki was too fast. Before you had even raised your leg, he saw it coming. The boy knew how you fought better than anyone.
Katsuki reached out and sent out an explosion at your feet, causing the ground to tremble and fall away just enough for you to lose your balance. He stood quickly, taking hold of both your wrists and slamming you back first against the floor. He held your legs down with his own and took extra care to make sure your palms were facing up.
"LET ME GO! JUST LET ME GO ALREADY KATSUKI!" Struggling, you thrashed in his grip to no avail. Tears began flooding down your cheeks as you locked eyes with him. He peered down at you with a solemn expression, saying nothing. "WHY AREN'T YOU SAYING ANYTHING?! LET ME GO..." You yanked against him and closed your eyes, screams only becoming louder and more desperate. "YOU SELFISH IDIOT, I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU DAMMIT-"
Upon opening your eyes once more, you found that he had leaned forward towards you. The descent of his lips against yours was slow and gentle. It made your entire body instantly weak, and he felt it. He felt the way your wrists no longer strained, and the way your body melted under him. He lingered there a few moments before pulling away and gazing at you softly.
"You don't. You love me. And you're going to listen to me."
He's right.
Katsuki released your wrists and hovered above you.
"You idiot..." You mutter, pressing your palms against his chest. "I could literally kill you right now... After all I just said... Aren't you scared of me?" Your voice was shaky and meek.
"Scared of you? Are you fucking kidding me? Did you see how I just kicked your ass?" Katsuki smirked in response.
He talks to me like nothing has changed.
The tears only welled up further as you broke into a full-on sob fest. You wrapped your arms around his chest and pulled him down against you desperately, calling out his name between your cries
"Katsuki... Katsuki I'm s-so sorry. I've been such an idiot... I'll never doubt you again..." He smiled gently and pulled up to a sitting position, taking you against his chest further. He held you closely and ran his fingers through your hair as you sobbed, planting soft kisses along the top of your head.
"It's okay." He whispered only tightening his embrace.
"I got you."
