Sam followed me up the stairs, laughing after he closed the door. "You really hate him, don't you?"

"I really do. Come on, let's just get this done and get out of here."

"Okay," Sam gestured towards the dresser. "Everything in here is mine." He opened the top drawer. "And everything on this side of the closet," he gestured to the left side. "Is mine."

"This side? Does Peter have you sharing the room?"

"Not exactly," Sam reached into the closet and pulled out a giant suitcase. "Luke was supposed to share a room with Mason and Ryan. But that's how Mason go screwed up, so I told Luke to move in here. I don't mind it much. He's a good kid, neat, pretty quiet. I can't complain."

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Sam said.

Luke cracked the door open. "Hey, uh, I'm sorry. But Ryan's getting on my last nerve, so... Mind if I come in here?"

"Not at all." I smiled at him.

"It is your room, Luke." Sam told him.

"I know, but I didn't know if you guys were, uh..."

"No! Dear God, no." Sam and I laughed. Luke blushed.

"Sorry."

"Don't be." Sam smiled. "You better get used to the fact that soon this room will be all yours. You'll have the second biggest room in the house."

Luke smiled. "Thanks, man. So, what? You move out and we never see you again?"

"No, you know that's not the case. We'll still hang out."

"As long as you don't bring Ryan around." I said, looking through Sam's drawer. Luke laughed. "I'm going to put my bottle downstairs. Do you guys want anything?"

"No." they said in unison. I smiled, grabbing my water bottle and heading down the stairs.

"Marilyn," I heard as soon as I entered the kitchen. "Damn baby, it's been too long."

"Not long enough." I rolled my eyes, moving around Ryan.

"Oh come on, don't be like that."

"Leave her alone," Mason said as he entered the room. "She isn't interested."

Ryan looked me up and down, but backed off. "Okay. Her loss."

"Thank you," I whispered to Mason as we left the kitchen.

"No problem. Actually, if it isn't too much to ask, can I talk to you?"

I nodded, following Mason into his room. He paced around his room as I sat on the edge of his bed, waiting for him to speak. When he didn't, I tried to prompt him. "Mason-?"

"I don't like my friend group." he blurt out. "I hate it. I hate that they're all addicts. We can't go out without one of them getting stoned. I don't know how I got dragged into this but I hate it, and I want out."

His outburst surprised me. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I asked, "Really?"

"Yeah," he sighed, sitting down next to me, then leaned back so he was staring at the ceiling. "I don't know what to do. I don't have anyone else."

"You had me." I said quietly.

"I know." he covered his eyes with his arms. "I know. I'm so sorry, I don't know what I was thinking picking them over you. I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

"No it's not." Mason uncovered his face and sat up, looking at me with pleading eyes. "I'm so sorry for leaving you like that. I don't deserve your help, but you're the only person who I know can help me. Please-"

"Mason, it's okay. Of course I'll help you."

"Really?"

"Really. Come on, let's ask Luke if you can bunk with him."

--

"Of course!" Luke grinned as Mason timidly asked if he could move into the room with him. "That'd be awesome."

"Really?"

"Yeah! Come on, I'll help you get your clothes in here."

As Mason and Luke left the room, Sam gave me a smug look. "You were quick to convince Mason to get away from Ryan."

"He didn't need convincing. He just needed some help."

"Yeah, okay."

Before I could answer Sam, my phone began to ring.

"Hello?"

"Marilyn? It's Dean."

"Oh! Hey." Sam raised his eyebrow, half teasingly, half questioningly as my expression changed.

"Hey. Sorry it's taken me all day, I just, uh, I don't know. This is new to me, I don't usually just sit down and tell someone everything-"

"No, I get it. Let's not make it about that then. Do you want to have dinner tonight?"

"What?" Dean sounded surprised, which made me laugh. "Oh, yeah. Yes, definitely."

"Okay, pick me up at seven."

"Seven. Okay, see you then."

"Who was that?" Sam asked after I hung up the phone.

"His name's-"

"Hey," Luke and Mason re-entered the room. "Are you guys up for seeing a movie tonight?"

"Marilyn has a date?" Sam tried to say, but it sounded like he was asking.

"Sorry guys. I'll have to take a rain check."
