After dinner, I sat next to Mason on his bed, listening to his favorite band- Pierce The Veil.

"I can't believe you've never heard of them!" Mason laughed, keeping his left arm close to him.

I shrugged. "I didn't really think this type of music was my thing."

"And now?"

I smiled. "I like it."

We fell silent, listening to 'I Don't Care If You're Contagious', a song I fell in love with just by hearing the title.

"Hey, so are you pressing charges or anything against the guy that hit you?" I asked as the song came to an end. "I bet Sam could be your lawyer."

Mason laughed. "No, I don't think so."

"You don't think your pressing charges or you don't think Sam will be your lawyer?"

"I don't think I'm pressing charges." he sighed.

"Why not? The way Peter made it sound, this guy could've killed you."

"Peter over exaggerates," Mason sighed again. "The guy was way over the legal limit of intoxication, or whatever the official term for it is, I figured he was in enough trouble as is."

"You're a good person, Mason." I smiled.

"Not really," he mumbled under his breath.

"What?" I asked, unsure if he wanted me to hear.

"Nothing. Let's go downstairs."

I helped Mason up and then followed him downstairs, making sure he didn't need any help. When he sat on the couch, he asked me to get him more pain killers.

"Sure," I said, going into the kitchen to get the pills and a glass of water.

As I filled the cup, Luke came in from the patio, where everyone but Mason and I- and now Luke, I guess- were.

"How's he doing?" Luke asked about his best friend.

I shrugged. "Still in enough pain to need these," I help up Mason's pain medicine. "But feeling okay enough to show me music by his favorite band."

Luke laughed. "They're good, right?"

I nodded. "They are pretty good."

"Here, I'll take these to him." Luke grabbed the glass of water and bottle of pills.

"Thanks," I said, grabbing another glass of water for myself, leaning against the counter to drink it. Dean came in shortly after, smiling at me.

"How's Mason?" he asked.

I shrugged. "He's-"

"Better!" Mason shouted from the living room. "I can hear you, you know!"

I laughed, then said, "He's a little bitch." loudly, making sure Mason could here.

I heard Luke laugh loudly, and Mason laughed too, before replying, "Fuck you!"

"That's my job!" Dean laughed, leaning on the island in the middle of the kitchen, across from me.

Mason and Luke laughed loudly again as Sam walked into the kitchen. He made a weird face at Dean, and I knew he had heard what had just happened. "Dude, gross. She's my best friend."

"And she's my girlfriend!" Dean chuckled.

I laughed. "Sorry, Sammy, he's got you beat."

Sam rolled his eyes at us before grabbing a beer and heading back out to the patio. When we were alone again, Dean reached over and grabbed my waist, pulling me towards him. "Let's get out of here."
