Hello Reader!! I'm gonna make this short and quick so you can get to reading. The first bit of the chapters are really rough. I was a new writer and yeah, it was bad. But I promise they do get better!! Okay, that's all. Enjoy!!

"A bus?" Kara asked.

"Yes a bus. Come on! It's almost here!" Alex yelled to her adoptive sister.

Kara had never rode a bus before. She barely even knew what one was. Last year, the year she landed on Earth, Eliza always drove them to school. The big yellow bus pulled up to the curb. The doors swung open with a hissing sound. Kara followed her sister to an open seat. She felt like everyone was staring at her.

"Alex?" Kara asked.

"Yeah?" Alex asked.

"Why is everyone staring at me?"

"Cause they know your an alien."

"What?! Really?!" Kara said freaking out.

"No! I'm joking! They stare at everyone cause they've got nothing better to do." Alex replied.

Minutes later the bus pulled up to the giant building they were supposed to call high school. Kara had ever seen so many students before in her life. The bus doors hissed open and she stepped out staying close to Alex.

A cold breeze of air hit her as she entered the school. She took it all in. Everyone seemed to have their own group that they hung out with. She followed Alex to the cafeteria to sit down before class started.

"We got lucky." Alex said taking out her schedule.

"Huh?" Kara asked.

"My mom called into the school and told them you were a foreign exchange student so they put you in the same classes as me."

"What's a foreign exchange student?"

"It just means you came from a different country."

"But I came from a planet, not a country."

"Obviously you can't tell people that. Just say your from Canada or something."

The warning bell rang and student hustled to their first class. Kara followed close behind Alex to their first class.

First class, math. The teacher seemed nice. She let the students pick where they wanted to sit and Kara obviously wanted to sit next to Alex but some other girl took the seat next to her. Kara looked around the room. The only open spot was in the back of the room by some green eyed girl. Disappointed, Kara sat down.

"Hi." the girl said.

"Hey." Kara replied nervously.

"I'm Lena."

"I'm Kara."

"Nice to meet you." Lena said smiling.

Kara couldn't get over how white Lena's teeth were. Her eyes were green like an emerald. Kara smiled back and focused on the teacher's instructions.

The next classes blew by in a breeze. After math was history, then gym, then english class, then science. After science was lunch. She and Alex had brought their own lunch and went looking for a table.

"I was talking to some guy earlier. He said we could sit with his group." Alex said.

"Really? But he's a stranger..." Kara said paranoid.

"How do you expect to make friends? Look! There he is."

Kara followed her older sister to a table in the corner of the cafeteria. She sat down practically clinging to Alex's arm.

"Guys, this is Alex and Kara." And guy said introducing them.

"I'm James." one bulky like guy said.

"I'm Lena." the same green eyed girl from Kara's math said.

"The names Sawyer." one girl said from the opposite side of the table.

"That's Maggie. She just prefers when people call her by her last name." James said.

"And you guys do?" Kara asked.

"Nah, as much as she wishes we called her Sawyer we all call her Maggie."

"I can speak for myself." Maggie grumbled.

"And I'm Winn." the smaller, thin guy said.

"Nice to meet you all." Alex said.

Kara felt better knowing some people. The final two classes after lunch were spanish and art class. Alex seemed to like the art class the best and was disappointed when it ended. Maggie approached them both after class.

"Hey Danvers." Maggie said to Alex.

"Yeah?" Alex asked.

"The group is going to get pizza after school. It's kinda tradition to get it after the first day of school. Wanna come?"

Alex looked to Kara to see if she wanted to. Kara smiled at the thought of getting more food.

"I'm always down for some food." Kara replied.

"Alright, we'll see ya there." Alex said to Maggie.

After dropping their stuff off at home, Kara and Alex walked to the pizza place. It was only about a block away from their house. Everyone already seemed to be there.

"We're not late, are we?" Alex asked.

"Nope! Right on time!" Winn said.

When the pizza came out they all stopped talking for a moment to enjoy the pizza. Kara tried to contain her usual hunger and only had two slices of pizza. They resumed talking as everyone started to finish up.

"Why don't you talk?" Winn asked addressing Kara.

James elbowed him in the side for the comment but still seemed interested in Kara's answer.

"I uh- guess I'm just getting used to things around here." Kara replied nervously.

"Oh! Your the girl from Canada, aren't you?" Lena asked.

"Yeah, that's me." Kara said blushing.

"Well, don't worry. You'll get along here great."

Alex, Kara, and Maggie were the last ones there. They had ordered another pizza after the others left. Alex and Maggie seemed to talk A LOT. Kara noticed the way Alex seemed to happy and calm when talking to Maggie. She never saw her like that when around someone that wasn't family.

It started getting late and it was time to leave. Kara and Alex watched Maggie leave with her mom in the car. They started walking when Alex asked Kara a question.

"Can you fly us the rest of the way home?" Alex asked.

"Are you sure that's smart?" Kara asked.

"It's night! No one would ever see us!"

Kara bowed her in agreement. She knew it wasn't smart but Kara knew it would make Alex happy. She grabbed Alex's arm and floated high in the sky, away from the view of bystanders. Kara glanced at Alex who was smiling from ear to ear. She landed in the backyard using the cover of the trees to hide her.

"So how was your first day?" Eliza asked not noticing they came in from the backyard.

"It was great!" Kara said.

"We met new friends." Alex said.

"That's great girls!" Eliza said.

Kara and Alex went up to their beds. Today was good and they couldn't wait to see what tomorrow brought them.
