Alex feared the next day of school. She knew some of he boys had been filming her get slimed. Filmed her so weak. So the next day, instead of Kara clinging to Alex, Alex was glued to Kara's side. She walked through the doors, everything seemed normal. She turned the first corner into the cafeteria and that's when she saw it. Posters of her on the ground covered in slime decorated the halls. In the cafeteria was a huge projector that played the video of her getting slimed on a loop.
Everyone turned their heads to Alex, who had just walked in. Alex was so embarrassed she zoned out everybody laughing at her until Kara brought her back.
"You okay?" she asked.
Alex didn't respond. She was frozen in embarrassment. She was about to run out of the school crying when she heard a loud thud. Standing about everyone on top of a table was Maggie.
"You guys think this is funny?!" Maggie yelled.
Everyone was now laughing at Maggie who was trying to stop the onslaught against Alex.
"See Rick over there? See his broken nose? Let me guess, he told all of you it happened in football?" Maggie yelled to the crowd.
Several heads nodded yes in agreement with Maggie.
"That's what I thought... wanna know what really happened? I broke the punks nose." Maggie said.
Now everyone was paying attention. All eyes were on Maggie Sawyer.
"And if anyone else tries to make fun of Alex Danvers you'll answer to me!" Maggie yelled finishing her rant.
The entire cafeteria was quiet now. Maggie jumped off the table and walked towards Alex. Once Maggie was to Alex the cafeteria went back to their normal talk. The video of Alex had been taken down and posters were being ripped off the wall.
That was hot... Alex thought to herself. Wait... did I just think that? Am I falling for Maggie?... Alex thought. Her thoughts however were interrupted by a pissed of Maggie.
"I can't believe he'd do something like that!" Maggie yelled while hugging Alex.
"Thanks Maggie." Alex said smiling and holding her hand.
Alex took note that Maggie blushed when Alex touched her. But not in a bad way... she seemed to enjoy it.
"If there's anything I can do to repay you?" Alex asked.
"Nothing needed." Maggie replied.
"Oh come on! There's gotta be something?"
"Okay, how about you swing by my house after school. We can hang out."
"I'll be there."
Maggie gave Alex a little smile and walked away which just left Alex and Kara.
"Hey, I'm gonna go do a thing." Kara said slowly walking away.
"Your gonna go do a thing?" Alex asked suspicious.
"Lena just texted me she needs help. I'll see you in math!"
Kara ran off from her sister. She doesn't know why but lately she's been finding herself always around Lena. Something about her just made Kara feel complete. Kara saw Lena at her locker waiting.
"Hey, what's the emergency?" Kara asked with a cute little smile but also with a sense of urgency.
"My phone died!" Lena said.
"How is that an emergency?"
"This is high school Kara! It. Is. An. EMERGENCY!!!"
"Just borrow mine." Kara said handing Lena her charger.
"Oh my god Kara your a lifesaver!"
Kara smiled at the affection. Suddenly Lena got a text message. Kara looked at the suddenly lit phone. Lena was at 80% on her phone.
"Hey Lena?" Kara asked.
"Yeah?" Lena replied.
"Your phones at 80%..."
"Damn... I'm busted."
"So why did you say you needed a charger?"
"I guess I just really wanted to see you."
The warning bell to get to class rang. Students started rushing to their classes. One boy ran into the back of Lena which made her fall forwards into Kara. Kara saw it coming and got ready to catch Lena. When Lena did fall on her she didn't move a muscle. Lena wrapped her arms around Kara trying to catch herself. When she stood up her, her arms still wrapped around Kara's neck, she was inches away from Kara's face.
"Wow, your really strong." Lena said smiling.
"I work out." Kara said blushing.
For a few moments they both stared into each other's eyes getting lost. Then the bell to start class rang. They both snapped out of it and ran to their class. Lena and Kara entered together and everyone stared at them when they did. The both took their seat next to each other.
Seconds later Kara's phone vibrated. She saw it was a text from Alex.
"Kara late? That's a first!" the text from Alex said.
"I was doing something!" Kara texted back defensively.
"So you and Lena both were doing something?"
"It- it's not like that!"
"Ohhhh sureeeee"
"Oh yeah? And how's Maggie doing Alex?"
"Hey!"
Kara giggled at her last text she sent. Then she thought about what Alex said. Was she crushing on Lena? Even if she was Lena probably doesn't like her back... but maybe she did...
Another vibration from Kara's phone revealed a text from Lena.
"You free after school? I wanna show you my secret hideout." the text said.
"Secret hideout? You know we're in high school right?" Kara texted with a laughing emoji.
"Fine, call it my hang out spot."
"Okay, so after school?"
"Yup!"
"See ya then!"
The bell to end math class rang and everyone went to their second class of the day. Kara and Alex were both counting the clock until school ended. Both had something-no... someone to look forward too.
