Chapter 14: Boy in the Corner

Alex was with Maggie in the cafeteria before school started. She was sitting down at a table not too far from Kara and Lena. Normally Maggie would have all of her attention but not today. Today she was focused on a boy that sat in the corner of the cafeteria. She had no idea who he was but she DID know that he had been watching Kara every morning since day one. And today he wasn't even trying to hide it. He was on the edge of his seat just staring at her, watching her every move. Now than ever since her DEO training she's been even more on alert. She noticed the way he nervously tapped his foot. Or the way his eyes darted back and forth but later fixed on Kara again. The way he wore his backpack while still in a chair. The way he was following his sister. Wait- he's following Kara! Alex jumped out of her seat completely ignoring Maggie and half sprinted and half walked towards the boy. Kara and Lena turned a corner. By now, Alex knew that meant they were going to Lena's locker. She decided to use a different hallway to cut the boy off. She snaked in between people before getting to the intersecting point. She turned her back to hide herself when Kara and Lena walked by. Seconds later the boy walked by. She picked him out of the crowd and dragged him to her, pinning him against the wall. The fear in his eyes were dominant.

"Al-Alex D-Danvers." he stuttered out.

"What do you want from my sister?!" Alex demanded.

"Yo-Your Alex D-Danvers." he repeated.

"Congrats, you know my name. Now answer my question!"

"N-Nothing! Never! I don't want a-anything from her!"

"Don't lie to me kid or I swear I'll break every bone in your body as slowly... and painfully possible."

The kid was sweating like crazy. Apparently Alex's reputation has gone around school. Everyone knew not to mess with her or her sister.

"Let me g-go." the kid said.

"Answer my question." Alex said.

"LET ME GO!" the kid demanded.

He pushed Alex back with a force she had not expected. Her body slammed into the lockers on the opposite wall making a loud thud. The kid stared at his hands before running off with exceptional speed. Alex's eyes followed the kid until she could no longer see him in the crowd. Gripping her shoulder, she looked back to where she once had the boy pinned. The locker next to the wall had a large dent in it. Several dents were in it, dents that resembled fingers. Alex stepped closer to examine it better. Confirmed, that kid did it. That would also explain why he was able to throw Alex so far and why he was so fast.

"After school. Biology room." Alex texted Kara.

Kara had heard a loud thud around a corner they had just passed. Instincts wanted her to investigate but she decided to stay with Lena instead. Her girlfriend needed her right now and that was top priority. Lex, Lena's brother, had been secretly creating weapons to end alien existence on Earth. The police only discovered this two days ago and a trial had already been scheduled. Lena was supposed to be a witness to all this although she had only just found out as well. The day she did find out she hid in her cave hideout. It didn't take Kara long to find her with her x-ray vision and super hearing. She comforted her all night and the next day. Today Kara was being extra protective. Everyone knew Lena by her last name and the new news was not giving her anything good. When people thought of Luthor they would think of the smart, rich, and brilliant Lex Luthor and his billion dollar company. Now the name Luthor might as well be a curse word. Luthor was now going to be remembered by insane, mental, and murderer Lex Luthor and his billion dollar company used to kill and experiment in aliens. Every once in awhile some kid would whisper or hiss something to Lena in the hallways but Kara would always snap back yelling at them. So when the loud thud was heard she didn't go running towards it, no, she stayed with Lena. Then she got the text from Alex. After school. Biology room. The words replayed in her head.
