Kara POV

It's been weeks since I've really gotten to see Lena. We try and hangout but we both are so busy nowadays. With me secretly being Supergirl and Lena starting some work program with Lillian, we've been beyond swamped. I miss her... I really really miss her. I hate to admit it, but I'm jealous. With Maggie living with us at home and needing some help with recovering fully, Alex has gotten the chance to be around Mags all the time. I hate that seeing them be goofy together and laughing and being genuinely happy, makes me jealous.

I turned my head as a chirping bird caught my attention. I loved how they were always singing their tunes of joy. Even as I lay floating on my back as if there's an invisible hammock under me, high in the clouds, I had company. I took a deep breath and am aged to catch a scent of the nearby ocean. I couldn't help but smile. The salty stench relaxes me as good memories flooded my mind. For it being summer, I hadn't had a lot of down time. When I wasn't flying around as Supergirl, fighting bad guys and resistance aliens, I would try and meet up with Lena. However, Lillian seemed to keep her busy 24/7 with the work program. I'll get a text here and there from Lena but for the most part she seemed too preoccupied. Was it wrong to feel neglected? To feel ignored? Less important? Even unloved at times? I growled out in frustration at these selfish thoughts. This was good for Lena! She had said it would help her discover herself! And that it was good for her, for us! Still... I miss her...

My heels clicked down the echoed hallways of the DEO. Everytime I hear the echo I can't help but think, why do I where heels? Seriously, fighting in heels doesn't seem very practical, even for a superhero! A few agents nod there heads at me as I pass by, to which I offer a friendly smile. I had earned these agents respect in the past year. I remember when they weren't too keen on trusting a high school teenager with their life. I remember when I can any sort of instruction it was brushed off because "you're just a kid. let the adults call the shots". However, over time, I managed to prove myself to these people I can happily call my second family.

"Supergirl, you're needed in the command center ASAP." one agent said to me as they walked by.

"Thank you Agent Pike." I replied turning towards the command center and picking up my pace.

My phones dinged and I pulled it out to see a text from Lena. "I love you.". Odd... that was... sort of out of the blue. I don't hear from her for 3 days and then an out of the blue I love you text? I quickly replied I love you too back and shoved my phone into my pocket. Suddenly, an alarm goes off. Hear we go.. I thought to myself. I picked up my fast walk to a sprint towards the command center. Agents were running around frantically and in the midst of all the chaos, stood a calm J'onn J'onzz.

"Director Henshaw... what do we got?" I asked standing next to him.

When he didn't answer, I looked towards him. Now I could see his face. His eyes were wide and his mouth was slightly a gap as he stared at the tv screens in front of us. I followed my gaze and watched to my horror.

News station 9 was live at a horrific scene. You could tell the cameraman was scared, as the screen shook and you could hear little breathy whimpers in the background. However, he didn't dare move his camera from the subject. In the middle of the screen was a woman dressed in all black wearing a matching black mask to cover her features. Red lines lined the dark suit like veins as they stretched over the suit. Her dark hair flowed down her back perfectly, no tangles or out of place hairs in sight. Behind her was mass destruction. Cars in flames, buildings in pieces, people screaming and running, and the ones blue sky had turned gray from ash. She reached out of screen, grabbing someone and pulling them in frame. She shoved the man down to his knees in front of her. His scale like features reveled his true alien identity. His eye was swollen shut and covered in blood. His clothes were battered and torn in several places as he had been cut and beaten before hand. His lips trembled as he began a "please help" before he was quickly silenced by the woman in black shoving him to the ground her her boot under his head. I had unknowingly grabbed J'onn's hand.

"People of Midvale, you need not fear. I have come to rid you're Earth of alien scum. For years you have had to live in fear, you have had to cower at the sight of aliens. You offered your planet to them, and they took your graciousness, and misused it! They used their powers for their own gain! For control! For power! It is time we rise up! It's time to fight against these terrorists, and fight for your planet! There is a new dawn approaching... a world many of you had forgotten. A world where we don't need to fear that our cashier is alien scum waiting to attack. A world without these terrorists! without invaders! Without aliens!! Join me humans, and together, we can shake our world free of aliens. My name is Tremors, and together, we can take back our world!" Tremors shouted. Her boot came crushing down, flattening, and killing, the alien below her. "We can take back our world! One alien at a time."

The screen flashed before going black. Everyone in the DEO was frozen in shock. My heart sunk to the bottom of my chest. My thoughts were racing a million miles a minute. A hand on my shoulder pulled me back to reality.

"Supergirl! Go!" J'onn yelled.

All my training kicked back in as I thrusted my fist into the air, flying through the hole in the ceiling made specifically for me. I didn't know where I was going, but I could stand there and do nothing. I closed my eyes and focused on my listening. Fire crackling... I did a full 180 and flew towards the sound of fire. The closer I got, the more screams I heard. I dipped my body to fly lower as a thick cloud of smoke made it impossible to see, let alone breath. There. The red striped popped out against the dark suit.

With a thud, I landed a few yards away from Tremors. She took notice of me, and laughed. She walked over to nearby grass and rubbed the blue blood off from the bottom of her boot before facing me.

"Pardon mr Supergirl, I'd hate to mix your blood with another's. The color of the combination just, doesn't seem to suit me." She said with a chuckle.

"Why are you doing this!" I demanded, balling my fists.

"Why? Why?? Because alien scum like you took advantage of us humans kindness! And now it's time to pay for those crimes."

I changed forward at her with my super speed, ready to blow a hard punch. My whole body shook when I was suddenly stopped. She had grabbed my hand with remarkable super speed and strength.

"My turn." she said as an uppercut slammed into the bottom of my jaw.

The force of the punch sent my body rocketing high into the air, before I came crashing down to the hard concrete. I stood up through the pain and grabbed a nearby chunk of broken concrete, thrusting it at her. It exploded it a blaze of dusk and tiny rocks. I squinted, trying to see through the dust. Nothing. No movement.

Suddenly a fist connected with my ribs. I wheezed our in pain and crumbled to my knees. Blow after blow, punch after punch. I could taste the metallic twinge from my own blood. I couldn't hold my body in the kneeling position anymore, and I crumbled to the ground. My body ached with pains I had never felt before. Cuts and bruises decorated my injured body and each breath felt like a knife was digging deeper and deeper into my lungs. My vision swayed and I was finding it hard to not choke on all the blood in my mouth. The front of my suit was gripped by Tremors as she pulled my body upwards toward her. I urged my body to react, to move, to do something. But nothing happened. I couldn't move. She brought her head down to my ear and whispered "I'm sorry." before a sharp pain formed in my abdomen. Fire spread throughout my body as I screamed so loud I felt as if my throat bled. She dropped my body back to the ground before flying away through the gray smoke. I laid there, in a crater created by my beaten body. All screaming had stopped, there was nobody but myself. I was alone. I managed a glance at my abdomen and through blurry vision, I saw a blurry green dagger. Unable to hold my head up, I let it crash back to the ground and fall to the side. I had no energy left anymore. I had nothing. All I could do was stare at the blinking red light atop the news camera staring directly at me. My vision began to fade to darkness. A figure was walking towards me behind my eyelids. Mom... her arms were outstretched. I missed her hugs. I missed her warm, soft skin on mine. I missed listening to her heartbeat and her joyful laugh. I missed her arms wrapped around me. I missed her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile telling me everything was going to be okay. She was my home. I wanted to go home again... my safe home... yes, yes... home...

The pain my body brought began to ease. My eyes finally closed and I managed a small smile on my lips, as I was now able to be with my mom again, back in her warm embrace. Back home.
