Jungkook didn't seem to believe me when I said those words, his pupils dilating in and out.

"Jimin," he said in a quiet voice. "You put your effort into that race. Your heart was telling you to push me away...and you followed it."

In an instant, his eyes grew cold and distant.

"You don't need to lie to yourself," he continued. "I'm just an obstacle in your path."

Jungkook pulled away and began moving again.

No, I thought. That's not true. I wanted to deny it...but I knew it was better this way.

It was better for me and for my own good.

I knew it was better... yet at the same time, I couldn't ignore the small voice inside me that told me to stay.

"JUNGKOOK," I yelled, running after him.

Despite my desperateness, I fell over a raised part of the floor and landed knee first onto the ground. A gruesome pain reverberated throughout my body, almost making me flinch and yelp.

I looked down, seeing red stain my jeans.

Shoot, my knee scratches must not have healed yet from the bike incident...

Jungkook turned around at my outcry,  immediately bending down with worry once he saw me.

"You're hurt...," he said, his voice a mix between anger and care.

Without another word, he picked me up bridal style and carried me out, my hands clutching my knees and my eyes on his face.

We were mere inches away and I could feel his chest moving up and down with every breath he took. I could see his sharp features, his perfectly shaped lips, and those eyes that could pierce the sky.

Being so close to him...I couldn't help but marvel at his statue-like presence.

But while my attention was on him, he set me down and before I knew it, I was in his car seat and he began driving.

I silently cursed at myself for even thinking of wanting to be in his arms longer...

But I couldn't deny the sense of protection and comfort it gave me.

The drive was silent and filled with that same awkwardness from before. I didn't know what to say and he wouldn't talk either.

"About what I said before Jungkook-," I said, staring straight at the road and not daring to look at him.

"I know," he whispered, breaking my sentence. "You didn't mean any of it..."

No... you're wrong.
