JAY, chapter 4
HE SAW LONNIE'S FACE expression change. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. She then shook her head and stepped closer to Jay.
"I'll go, you don't have to face your father.""You think I'm letting you go near Jafar without me?" Jay questioned. "No."
"Then what are we gonna do? Sooner we get the lamp, sooner we leave." Lonnie breathed and looked around.
The two was standing in front of a sign "danger. flying rocks." Jay took a rock from the table behind them and threw it at the sign. They both went upstairs to the VK's bedrooms.
"I need to figure out what am I gonna do." Jay said to himself and sat on the couch in the living room. Lonnie coughed to get his attention.
"Correction: We need to figure out what are we gonna do." Lonnie said and glared at Jay. "Why don't you just let me help you, for once."
Jay looked at her. Lonnie was new to the Isle, she didn't know that danger is at every step she takes. Of course, she knew how to look after herself but not on the Isle. She played by rules, Isle didn't. "Fine." Jay let out. "I don't know what my father's gonna do, when sees me."
"He doesn't have to." Lonnie said quietly. "Let me search for the lamp. That way we won't have to face angry Jafar. How would he know that I'm with you?"
"You don't know him." Jay said, he looked down in no direction particularly. It looked like he was remembering something from past.
"Can't you just trust me for once?" Lonnie yelled out and gained his attention.
"I do trust you, I just don't trust the Isle." Jay explained, still calmly.
"Say that if it makes you feel better." Lonnie murmured.
"Really? You think I don't trust you? If I didn't trust you, I wouldn't be here on the Isle, with you."
"Prove it." Lonnie challenged. "Let me go into Jafar's shop, let me get the lamp. Let me bring it here, safely."
Jay stared at her with anger. He wished Lonnie would understand that Jay was worried about her and only her. He was so angry, wanted to yell at her but he also knew that It wouldn't be any good. He took some deep breaths.
"Okay." He said quietly. "But I'll be waiting outside, you have only ten minutes, if you do not come out by then... I come in."Lonnie nodded and Jay could see her lips form a smile. "Thank you, Jay." She whispered and went in for a hug, but Jay turned her down and opened the door for his room.
"I wish you'd understand that I'm only worried for you." Jay muttered and went to his bedroom.
He changed into a night time outfit and went to sleep. He couldn't close eyes for hours and laid wide awake in his bed, starring at the dark moon from his window.
Jay opened his eyes and checked the clock. It was 9:55. He got up, quickly got ready and went out in the living room. He saw Lonnie packing her backpack for their little visit to Jafar. Jay had this terrible thoughts, of what might happen to Lonnie and he couldn't get rid of them.
"Morning!" Lonnie called and threw her backpack on. She seemed a little too much excited.
"Not so fast, Miss I-can-do-everything-myself." Jay teased, Lonnie frowned at him. "My father loves unknown people visiting his shop, just because he can steal most from them. He had my help when I was with him but, you know, he's pretty good himself."
"Okay. I'm gonna be careful and watch his every move." Lonnie assured.
"If he tries to hurt you in any way-"
"Jay." Lonnie cut him off. "If something's gonna go wrong, I know how to defend myself."
"Just call for me if you need help." Jay pleaded and Lonnie agreed.
Jay and Lonnie walked with their heads down, neither of them wanted any extra attention. They crossed some streets and finally reached Jafar's shop.
"Be careful, watch his every move." Jay told Lonnie. She nodded and smiled to Jay. "What shall i ask for? A Genie's lamp?"
Jay chuckled and nodded.
"He'll know what your talking about." He assured.Lonnie turned around, she was standing in front of Jafar's shop. Jay grabbed her arm and pulled her in for a hug. Lonnie was surprised but she did hug him back. "Be safe." Jay whispered in her ear and let her go.
Lonnie nodded and went into the shop. Jay heard his fathers voice and could feel anger building up inside him. He promised himself that he wouldn't allow anyone or anything hurt Lonnie. He looked down at his watch. Lonnie had been in his fathers shop for four minutes by now. Jay was getting more and more nervous.
People kept staring at him when walking by. Some of them were amazed, some - disgusted, some - angry, some - happy.
Ten minutes had passed and Lonnie wasn't coming out. He wanted to give her more time but he was very anxious, not knowing what was going on, in there. He decided to eavesdrop and when he couldn't hear a single thing, he decided to go into the shop.
Jay slowly opened the door and stepped in.
