Later that day Bindi was assigned a interview on "Sunrise" a news show. In a few days she had to speak about this coincidental adoption that was so unexpected. Abbey had started her training, Tim handed her a glove, "just hold your arm up with the bit of meat and she should land on you and eat it." He instructed, Abbey slipped the glove on her hand. "Kora!" she called with her hand raised. The eagle stared down at her, she took off across the field, screeching out of joy and interest. She stretched her mighty talons out to perch on her, making a perfect landing. Abbey gleamed in amazement at how fast she was. "You may not be a Peregrine Falcon, but your a truly amazing bird," she commented. "You want to try it without the meat now?" Tim asked, continuing the lesson, "sure."
A few hours of training had tired her out, "how was your day?" Bindi asked her curiously. "It was such a cool experience, i feel like i could do that everyday," she cheered. "I'm going to take Grey for a walk later, do you want to come?" she smiled, looking at the dog. "Actually i wanted to speak to you about something," Bindi grinned. "Oh sure, whats up?" she asked, sitting down on the couch. "You and i are going to Sydney for an interview, on Sunrise and its about you," Bindi explained quietly. "Wow, i went from nothing to famous?" she thought quickly. "I wouldn't say you are famous but you will be on the news and people will watch you, i don't know what will happen," Bindi shrugged. Abbey nodded and got up again, "i might work on Fievel again," she smiled. "Be careful," she worried. "If he bites me its my fault," she insisted confidently. "Whatever you say," she shrugged. Abbey entered the bird room where Opal greeted her excitedly. "Hello pretty girl," she pat the bird and tipped her on her back like a baby. The bird lay there enjoying it with her feathers fluffed up, Fievel started to come closer to them interested. He climbed from perch to perch to where Opal was placed back. "You came to say hello, how nice," she smiled, sarcasm was in her eyes. She held her arm out, expecting to get aggressive signs. Surprisingly the bird just stared at her arm without doing anything. She slowly placed her arm near him, the bird continued to stay put without doing anything. "You want a nut don't you?" She grinned, pulling one out. Fievel looked at it and jumped onto her arm immediately, "can I pat you?" She asked as she handed the nut to him. Her hand floated above his head, the bird fluffed his feathers up to show signs of wanting to pat. Her hand lowered to his head, "wow, you are a softy, you just need some trust," she thought, feeling achievement. "Want to step up?" she asked, offering her hand again. Fievel stepped up immediately. "Yessss," she softly cheered as the bird was calm. "So much for very aggressive and untamed." She spat, continuing to pat the bird, she sat down on the floor and got out a few toys to play with the birds, both where placed on the floor. "I am going to free-flight you some day," she thought ahead confidently. She picked up a toy and threw it across the room, Opal went after it, Fievel remain where he was, depressed as usual. "Its okay, your not abandoned anymore," she felt bad, Bindi would always let him free roam but didn't have one on one interaction because of her busy job in the zoo. "Tomorrow is the day I fly to Sydney, you are coming with me," she wanted to help him to become a friend to everyone. "Do you like harnesses?" she wondered, searching through his stuff for a harness. "You have one!" she felt relief, "you probably haven't wore this for years but lets give this a go," she slowly held the head piece in front of him with a nut in sight. He hesitated for a second but gain trust as he got scratches on his head. He leaned forward and had the loop around his neck. Abbey rewarded him and went for his wings, suddenly she had a thought, she hadn't tried to grab his wings yet. This could be the time she will receive a nasty bite. Her eyes focused on his wings while she lifted it with her hand, the bird didn't react, instead helped by keeping his wing up. Abbey scratched under his wing and placed it back down as the wing parts of the harness was under his wings. "Lets go," she walked out of the room and showed Bindi. As she expected her mother was shocked in the improvement. Opal was on her harness as well, "you impress me a lot, your truly a miracle." Bindi commented sweetly, "can I take them tomorrow?" she asked hopefully. "Fievel has never been out of the state or even travelled, vets check him here," Bindi admitted unfortunately. "Has he even been out of this house?" she asked sadly. "No," she replied simply, Abbey frowned and looked at the bird. "He deserves better," she snapped, walking outside with him, she had the extension leash in her pocket for recall. Both macaws balanced on her shoulder as she walked into the zoo to say good morning to the animals. Jira, Archie and Eve looked at her curiously. They received a bark from Grey who Abbey hadn't realised had followed her. "Shoosh Grey, you will get me in trouble," she worried, patting the dog. She continued to look through the zoo, people stared at her with interested. "Are you even allowed to bring animals in the zoo?" a lady approached her with interest. "No, of course not," she shook her head. "What are you doing in the zoo with them then?" she nosily pointed to the parrots on her shoulder. "I'm special," Abbey laughed, the women shrugged and walked away. She expected the women to go straight to the front and report her but she just ignored it.
