The Lunar Wolf, this story begins many centuries ago when the Goddess started to create different breeds of werewolves. Wolves were never born with pure white fur, because white is a symbol of purity, and the Goddess is the only one pure enough to have white fur. The last breed the Goddess created was her sacred wolf, the Lunar wolf. Wolves born with white fur, to symbolize that they were her precious wolves. They were Healers and prophets, the only wolves with free will to go to the Wolf Realm (An afterlife for werewolves) and speak to the dead. She created them to keep peace and honor to werewolves.
Because of their abilities, other werewolves became jealous, they teamed up with humans to purge the white wolves. And they did, they killed them, burned them alive, poisoned them, everything to make the Lunar wolves suffer for being special. Every single Lunar wolf and many regular wolves with white fur were killed so no Lunar wolf could even exist again. The Goddess was so distraught that she cried and cried for months over the loss of her Lunar wolves, and that her children which she had created could be so jealous and so cruel, her tears fell and from it came rain. It rained for as long as she cried.
Her mate, an Immortal werewolf God, enraged at the wolves who made his lover cried, went down from his immortal realm to the mortal earth and punish every wolf and human who killed a Lunar Wolf. Ripping their bodies apart and throwing their souls into the Abyss of Darkness to be punished forever. Because of this, the werewolf species lost many of its population. And this God was named by the werewolves, as Wolfsbane, the God of Punishment and Death.
In fear of the God, the werewolves came together and created a set of rules and codes for them to live by, one rule was that no wolf will ever harm a Lunar Wolf or they will be damned to death. That was four hundred years ago, now four hundred years later, I was born with a white wolf form.
I was the first Lunar Wolf in four hundred years.
I read and re-read that story over and over again in the book Judge, Jury, Executioner.
I couldn't bear to go out of my room after my outburst and roaring shift the other day. Everyone on our road heard my roaring howl, my body was sore from my shift. Because of my white fur, Dad didn't like me shifting since no one can tell a Lunar wolf in their human form. So I was rarely allowed to shift if I did it had to be in the house. Rarely did I shift so I often hurt to shift and I was sore days after.
Five times a day, sometimes, even more, Mavvie came to see if I was alright and to bring me food or a book. Anju and Winter knocked on the door asking if they could come in when I didn't answer they left. Mom even came to check on me every day.
We can't stay locked in here forever, Hadden huffed.
I know, I just don't want to see anyone other than Mavvie, he seems to be the only one who understands me.
That's because he's our brother, he knows us.
There was a knock on my door, I didn't answer and waited for them to say who they were. The knob twisted and turn and I hear a click. Then the door opened.
By the scent that filled the room, in an instant, I knew it was Dad.
"I've kept keys that unlock all your rooms for years now," he said holding a small key in his hands, "This is the first time I've had to use yours."
I turned a little just to be able to see him, "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
He walked to my side and sat on the floor beside me, "Compared to your siblings, good."
"Are you upset that we're making you go to the Games?" He suddenly asked after a moment of silence.
I sighed, "No Dad, I'm actually a little nervous, I've never been outside of Golden Sound, let alone the country. I'm upset that you all think I'm weak cause I'm a Lunar Wolf."
Dad's eyes softened, "We don't think your weak son, Lunar Wolves weren't thought to be weak either. We're simply scared for you. Scared that the wolves down days won't honor the rule for your kind. It's been four hundred years since the last Lunar Wolf sighting and we just don't know how the world will react to one showing up centuries later."
Frowning I turned to him, "I thought you told Winter that they should honor the fact I'm a Lunar Wolf now."
He nodded, "Yes I know, but if I told her what I really think, it would have been harder to convince her to let you go to the games. You know how she is with you because of your younger and an extinct breed of werewolf she feels she has to protect you as your older sister."
"Yeah I know, but she's too overprotective" I whispered.
He took a breath and began again, "I've been overprotective of you as well Harvey, to the point where I've practically caged you here. And I am sorry for that, I'm doing this now because I want you to get out and see the world that I've kept you from."
I leaned my head against his shoulder, It brought me back to my childhood when just Dad and I would get together. Talk, joke and sometimes play and for those moments Dad wasn't a King and I wasn't a Prince, we were just a father and son.
"I trust you Harvey, and I trust Anju, Winter, and Mavvie as well, you'll be fine down there. The only thing really your doing is watching the Games. You're not competing in them or anything like that."
That made me think of something, "Why don't we ever send our wolves to the Games Dad?"
"Because the other Alphas always thought that we'd cheat the other Packs out of the win and only give the points to our pack. So it was added to the rules, the pack which has it's King or Queen cannot have their wolves compete in the Great Wolf Games."
"That kinda sucks for us."
He chuckled softly, "Yes it does."
"So will you come out now?" Dad stood up, "Winter told me to tell you that she's sorry and she'll do anything to make up for it."
I sly smile crept up on my face, "Anything you say?"
He smiled as well, "Don't go overboard with that power Harvey."
"I won't."
Yes, we will, Hadden smirked.

~Wow I am so sorry I uploaded this late. When I realized I had to do it, it was already very late so I decided to do it today, and to make up for it, I'll be uploading chapter 4 today as well. The story of the Lunar Wolf is the proudest thing I've ever come up with, to the history, the Gods and Goddess, how they play their role, what happens, it's the greatest writing I've ever created.~
