~Eska's POV~
"Where's Agafya?" I asked.
When I had arrived again the old healer wasn't in the room, only her Healer-in-training Misha.
"She's speaking with Lubov about everything, he also wanted to know your mate's condition."
This is our chance, Athena whispered.
"Would there be any way I could see him?"
She looked back to the room and I waited for her to turn back around, "I... suppose it would be alright."
She opened the door for me, "Just be very quiet."
I nodded and entered the room. I paused the moment I was in and nearly started to cry.
I could hear the beep from the heart monitor which was tied up to my mate. He was lying on a bed with so many plugs and wires attached to his body. A bandage wrapped around his neck, to keep his horrible wound from getting infected.
His eyes were still closed, his fur seems lightly duller.
H-He really is dying, Athena sniffed.
My Mate was dying.
Those very words made me feel sick.
I walked to his side and sat down in front of him using a nearby chair, I gently rested my hand on his soft fur and dug my fingers into it.
Oh, how I missed his touch.
I lowered my head and buried my face into his long fur almost sneezing as it tickled my nose. I sobbed.
Harvey... please wake up, I begged through our bond. I could barely feel him through it.
I need you.
I felt a warmth spread throughout the room, it surrounded me in a blanket of comfort. I raised my head to see a white mist forming in the room.
From the mist, the outline of a woman with a wolf started to come through. I watched as the woman became clearer and as well as the large black wolf. He looked like smoke that was morphed into a wolf, with eerie red eyes.
The woman had a long pale blue dress, pale skin that matched her white hair and the most vibrant blue eyes I had ever seen.
"Eska Morgian Cerie, of the Blue Waters Pack and Mate to Harvey Cinkael" she addressed me.
"H-how do you know me?" I asked a little afraid.
"Do not fear dear child," she smiled, her voice sounded sweet, like a mother's lullaby, "I am the Mother of Werewolves my child."
"The Moon Goddess..."
The black wolf gave a nod, Correct young wolf, he said.
"This here is my mate Wolfsbane" she motioned to the wolf.
My eyes widened in fear as I noticed he was looking at my mate, "A-are you here to take him away?" I asked holding him tighter.
The Moon Goddess shook her head and looked at my mate sadly, "It pains me just as much as it pains you of what happened to my Lunar Wolf young one..." she rested her hand on my shoulder, it felt so warm.
"400 years ago when all my Lunar Wolves were killed, it distraught me more than anyone could imagine, I wanted to create more Lunar Wolves but I was worried that they would continue to be vengeful towards them. So I waited."
I looked up at her, "Why did you choose Harvey? Why is he the first Lunar Wolf in 400 years?"
She continued, "Because I knew he was something special, or you could say that I choose him to be special. The youngest child of the Royal Family, and now he will be the Father of the new Breed of Lunar Wolves... and now you will be the Mother Eska."
The mother of a new Breed.
"T-then he isn't going to die?" I asked hopefully.
He face grew stern all of the sudden, "Not while I'm a Goddess."
She walked to Harvey's side and gently rested her hand on his side, she leaned down and kissed him just under his eye.
She straightened and waited.
I watched him with anticipation, finally his fur started to shorten and his wolf form began to shift back to a human.
I gave a cry of joy as he completed the shift and I was now looking back at the human form of my mate. The bandage had fallen off and there was all but a scar resigning on his neck. He groaned into his sleep and I smiled and wiped my eyes, he was alright.
"Thank you... thank you so much" I cried quietly to the Goddess, she leaned down and kissed my head, "Take care of him, my daughter, I will always be watching over you."
She turned around and walked into the mist, I heard her say something as she and Wolfsbane left, "You know what to do."
Yes, my love, the Black wolf answered.
The mist cleared and they were gone.
The door opened and Agafya walked when, "Eska I thought I told you to-"
She stopped when she saw Harvey and her eyes widened, "He's shifted" she ran to his side and began to examine him again.
I gently held his hand and when she finished she straightened, "He's going to be perfectly fine, he'll wake up within the next two days. I'm sorry Eska, perhaps a mate's touch was all that he need."
I shook my head still crying a bit, "The Goddess is an amazing wolf, this is all her doing."
Agafya smiled, "We are grateful to have a loving Mother."
I jumped as I heard a scream, Agafya and I looked at each other then both ran towards the sound of the scream. I felt bad about leaving Harvey, but I knew now he was going to be alright.
The screaming got louder and we ran towards the Dungeon where a crowd of wolves were gathered.
Some where gagging, screaming and crying. Others stood there in shock, peering into a cell. We pushed pass everyone to the cell and I too gagged at the scent of blood.
When we got through I gasped in horror. Lubov was then beside me in an instant, he too was silent and unmoving.
Blood soaked the walls, floor and ceilings, there were human organs and bones scattered across the cell, some organ I never even knew existed in the human body.
And in the middle of the cell, a body ripped to shreds. It was almost unrecognizable, almost. We all knew who this was.
Zakhar.
What caught my eye however was something on the wall behind him, a symbol of some sort, it was drawn with blood but it was recognizable, it was the Symbol of Wolfsbane.
