~Eska's POV~
Blood.
There was blood everywhere. Covering my hands, my legs, my clothing.
It's scent filled the room. I wasn't the only one covered in it either. Winter was furiously rubbing her pants with a cloth that were bloody. Anju's hands had blood on them as well, she stood in the corner of the room, silent, her body shaking every few minutes.
Nick handed me a wet towel and began to wipe some blood off my face. I let him, I was paralyzed with fear and shock.
The image still fresh in my mind, my mate lying in a pool of his own blood, his beautiful white fur stained red, a horrific gash of ripped flesh near his throat.
And his eyes, as I ran to him, they closed and did not open.
The door of the Pack infirmary opened and Agafya walked out, her head hanged low and she too was bloody.
We all stood up and rushed to her, "How is he?" I demanded.
"I've done my best to stitch up his wounds, the smaller less dangerous ones such as his shoulder and belly were easy, but the bad one... I've done my best. It's up to his healing process to kick in."
"Will it?" Nick asked.
"I can't say Alpha Nick, he hasn't shifted back to a human which means he's very weak at the moment. That also means he might be too weak to heal himself."
For the first time since we got here, Anju spoke,"What are his chances of surviving Agafya?"
She stared at the Crowned Princess for a bit before answering, "45."
I sobbed, he only had a 45% chance of living?
Winter threw her chair across the room and snarled as it shattered, "NO! We lost a sister we sure as hell are not losing a brother as well! I order you to fix him!" She screeched.
Anju jerked her head towards her sister, "Winter that's enough! You can't yell at her she's doing her best!"
"I told you! I told you all, I told Dad that Harvey shouldn't have been here! He wouldn't be half dead!"
I choked back another sob when she said that, half-dead.
The door out of the waiting room opened and Misha, Eliza, and Mavvie walked in. Both women on either side of him.
He wasn't looking good either, there was a deep cut above his eye which oozed blood. More cuts and bites covered his skin and he was limping.
Anju acted first, "Mavvie are you alright?"
He nodded, "H-Harvey" he was out of breath, "How's he doing?"
"Not good" she whispered.
I noticed now all three of them were soaked with water, was it still raining outside?
Eliza got him to sit down, "We'll look after these cuts."
He gritted his teeth, "Zakhar was arrested, they also found the shooter, Arseni. They were both thrown into a jail cell until trial."
"I knew they had something to do with this," Anju gripped the chair, "Why him? Why was he such a threat?"
"Perhaps it has to do with the Lunar Wolf?" Eliza suggested gently cleaning Mavvie's cuts which had started to heal.
"Then he shouldn't have hurt him!" Winter snapped making Eliza flinch.
"Hey! Don't yell at her!" Mavvie stood up to face his sister.
"Zakhar wasn't surprised when Harvey shifted! So he clearly knew! Someone had to have told him!"
"I-It wasn't me Princess" Eliza stuttered, "I never knew until today."
"Alright everyone just stop!" Agafya shouted, "If your going to argue and shout at each other then do it somewhere else! How would Harvey feel knowing your all acting this way?"
"C-could I see him please?" I asked.
The old healer looked at me sadly, "Not right now my dear."
I felt Nick's strong hands rest gently on my shoulders, "Eska... you need a shower."
"I want to stay here though, so I can see him when he wakes up."
A wave of unease arose throughout the room, when... not if. I believed deep down he would wake up.
"Alpha Nick, is it alright if I take her to my room? I can get her cleaned up" Anju said moving towards me.
He nodded and gently pushed me towards her, she led me out of the room and towards the Mansion. We were silent on the way and so were the halls. The entire Mansion was a ghost town.
I had been in Harvey and Mavvie's room before many times, but this was the first time I had seen Anju's room. It was really the same as theirs. Except she had brought a few home touches in her room. A purple lamp on the nightstand, she had brought some organizations stands for her papers covering her desk and a light purple rug.
She led me to the bathroom, "Thank you... I'll be alright for now" I said quietly.
I stripped down when she left and let the warm water wash the blood away, she had a Sakura body wash in the shower and I hoped she wouldn't have minded if I used it.
When I got out, I found a pile of clothes for me, when I put them on I guessed they were Anju's even for lounging they still looked like a Princess.
I walked out of the bathroom and Anju was sitting on her bed, his hands were still shaking a bit. I went over to her and rested my hands on hers to stop them.
She sighed gratefully, "Thank you Eska."
"I uh... hate to ask this with everything that's been going on but, what did Winter mean by you lost a sister?"
Anju stayed quiet for a minute before raising her head to me, "Before Harvey was born we had another sister named Melody. She passed away when our mother was pregnant with him. Winter was the closest to her, when Harvey came along it took her a while to get used to him, but when she did, she loved and cared for him like us all."
She gripped my hand, "This is hard on all of us. The Pack fell apart when she died, I can't imagine how..." she sucked in a breath, "We can't loose him."
