I thought about Eska all night. Her smile, her face, her scent, everything. I couldn't wait to see her again and neither could Hadden.
I was right, the bruise had fully healed and not a mark was left on my face.
Mavvie was still asleep snoring lightly as I laid on my bed wide awake. In half an hour we would have to get up and get ready for the second day of the games. I looked over at my brother and watched as he slept peacefully, watching him seemed to make me at peace as well.
He groaned and his eyes slowly opened smirked, "It's creepy to just watch me like that you know."
I shrugged, "I don't care, you looked pretty peaceful."
He pulled back the covers and sat up, "Hey Harvey, if something was going on, you'd tell me right?"
I stiffened but nodded, Does he know?
I think he's trying to find out, Hadden said.
"Where were you last night?"
My blood went cold, "I-I-"
His gaze hardened, "Don't lie to me, Harv. You can always trust me, I know something's been bothering you, something important. I want to help."
"I want to tell you but it's very complicated Mavvie."
"Then start from the beginning! Please, I'm your brother I've always been there for you. You've told me everything! Things you couldn't tell Mom or Dad. When you had a problem you came to me!"
"Please just drop it!" I ordered. "I'll tell you when I can, please just stop bothering me about it."
He turned his head away and without saying anything, got up and began to get dressed.
I silently watched him as he opened the door to our room, "You have your secrets, well I have mine."
With that, he slammed the door shut.
What does that mean? I asked my wolf.
He growled I don't know. But I don't like it.
My phone went off and I picked it up and answered it, "Hello?"
"Hope you're getting ready, Lubov invited us and the Alpha of the Blue Waters Pack as well as a few of their wolves to breakfast," Winter said.
I answered, "Yeah I'll me you guys outside of your room."
She hung up and I began looking for something nice to wear. The one thing I hated about being here was I could never just wear my sweaters and pants. It always had to be something nice.
Alpha Nick, he was the one Eska was talking about last night.
After searching for a few minutes I found a plain white button long sleeve shirt and black jeans. I quickly combed my hair to make it less messy and ran out the door.
Anju was waiting for me and as I caught up she glanced at me, "Hey let's go Mavvie beat you down there, normally he's the one who's keeping us late."
I gave a nervous laugh, "Yeah sorry, I had trouble waking up."
"Well let's go."
Winter ran out as soon as we started to leave and joined our side. We walked down the flight of stairs and headed to the large dining hall where Lubov, a tall man with black hair, Zakhar, Luka, Mavvie, Eliza, surprisingly Eska, and a man by her side who was dark skinned, with red hair and hazel eyes.
I smiled at Eska and she grinned when she saw me.
"I apologize for our lateness," Anju said as we got closer.
"No need Princess, we all just got here ourselves," Eliza said and we all chose our seats. We all sat down and the black haired man spoke, "Privetstviye Printsessa (Greetings Princess) I am Tyree Oranio, Beta to the Russian Pack, and this here is Zakhar Kasovo Third to the Pack."
So he's a Third, Hadden said, We've met before but he didn't give off any power like normal wolves with high positions should.
Anju nodded, "Greeting Tyree, Zakhar. And greetings and congratulations to you Alpha Nick for scoring the first win of the Games yesterday."
Nick was the redhead beside Eska. We were seated so that I sat right next to my mate and the Alpha.
He smiled, "Thank you but all praise should go to my pack members, I did nothing but watch and cheer them on."
"Sometimes that is all but enough to keep your Pack strong," Anju said.
Lubov nodded, "I couldn't agree more."
I decided to make some small talk so I wouldn't make things awkward, "The word and doing of an Alpha can keep anyone strong and fill them with hope. That is why the Alphas are the leaders of the Pack. They are strong, they are wise and most of all they are caring to their Pack."
Damn, where did that come from Harvey, that was brilliant! Hadden questioned and my eyes widened at what I said.
I don't know I just opened my mouth and words came out, I can't believe I said that.
Everyone looked at me in surprise, Winter, Mavvie, and Lubov looked the most surprise. Anju looked more impressed with me.
Finally, Winter grinned and took a sip from her glass, "Right you are little brother."
Cooks and maids came in with food and they set it down in front of us.
"Today for Breakfast we are serving you kasha, butterbrots, fried eggs and tvorog," The head cook said and I looked at the food. The kasha looked a bit like porridge, butterbrots were a sandwich with a slice of toast with some eggs. The tvorog smelt a little like cottage cheese.
"This looks delicious" Eska brightened.
Nick smiled at her and a small wave of jealousy flew over me.
I don't like that smile, I growled.
Hadden agreed He shouldn't be smiling at our mate I don't care if he's an Alpha I'll whip his butt!
For once I agree with your violence Hadden.
I never agreed with his violent ways. Or ever felt jealous. Why was I acting this way?
Because we now have a mate. She's now the most important thing in our life.
Hadden, what do you think will happen if she finds out about us being a Lunar wolf.
Uneasiness filled me when he didn't answer right away.
I... don't know.
