"BLOODY HELL." Alice said after Lily told her everything that happened between Scorpius and her.

"Scorpius is so dreamy!" Alice interrupted before Lily could even open her mouth. "He is sooo sweet!" Alice pouted at the thought of Scorpius going through a tough week just for Lily's safety.

"Alice, who's side are you on?!" Lily frowned, completely taken aback at Alice's reaction.

They sat on the maroon couch in the Longbottom living room, their legs crossed as they faced one another. The room had plenty of weird-looking plants around the corners of the room, which was understandable since Alice's dad was a Herbology teacher at Hogwarts. On top of their fireplace were pictures of their family together in small little vintage frames. Reece and Alice even had photos of them as kids with two of their front teeth missing. It was comfortable and homey at Alice's house, and Mrs. Longbottom was thoughtful enough to bring tea and biscuits for them.

"How is that sweet and dreamy?" Lily arched a brow as she folded her arms, clearly having a different view over the whole situation.

"Well, no guy would ever do that for me. Not even Lorcan."

Then it hit her.

It was true - what Alice said. Never would Lily think that someone would go through all that trouble. . . Not for her, at least.

Sure, Scorpius lied to her and hurt her feelings. Yes, he made her feel insecure of herself by trusting a beautiful curvy stranger instead of his own girlfriend.

But Alice made her realise how lucky she was to have a guy that would actually make an effort just to protect someone they loved. She didn't even know blokes like that still existed nowadays!

Even if he did all those things, he did it because he loved her.

And sometimes, loving people means hurting them.

Sometimes.

"Alice. . . I just made a very very big mistake." She bit her lip as she looked at Alice, worriedly.

"What?" Alice asked with a confused expression.

"I think I just broke up with Scorpius Malfoy." She buried her face on her hands as she groaned. "Urgh! I'm so stupid! What have I done?!"

"Wow, Lils. I don't know what to say to you anymore." Alice leaned back on the couch as she turned to Lily. "What the bloody hell are you still doing at my house? Go after him, you freak!" Alice shouted, pulling Lily away from the couch.

"No! I can't." Lily shook her head, vigorously.

"Why not?"

"Because I'm not ready. I'm pretty sure his parents are at Malfoy Manor right now, so I can't just barge in like that unannounced!"

"Oh, dear. You're right." Alice grimaced. "Nobody has ever met his parents before."

They both shuddered at the thought.

"But you'll have to meet them eventually, you know." Alice teased, nudging Lily lightly.

"Ah, but I haven't fixed things with Scorp yet, so there might be no 'eventually' anymore." She sighed.

"I just can't believe you let him go like that after all the things he said to you." Alice shook her head, frowning at Lily which only made her feel worse about herself. "Heck, he told you he was in love with you and you completely shut him out!"

"Thanks a lot." Lily said, sounding annoyed. "Don't forget how awfully hurt I was, too. I was the one lied to, not him."

"Of course." Alice nodded. "Goodness knows what you've been through. I'm just saying that he's gone through a lot worse - and of all people, you should be the one who understood him the most."

"Who's side are you even on?!" Lily complained, feeling severely guilty.

"Sorry!" Alice giggled.

"You know what? I don't regret coming here even if you're scolding me, because if I haven't, I probably would never realise how stupid I am."

"Well, I'm flattered that I was the first one you thought of after that tragic, erm, loss. . . Lillian." Alice smiled, softening up a bit as she hugged Lily. "Thank you."

"You're my best friend. You know me better than anyone else." Lily hugged back.

"So, what will you do now?" Alice asked.

"I seem to be doing all the wrong choices, don't you think? I think I've done enough for the day."

"Are you going to fix things with him or not?" Alice asked, anxiously.

Lily nodded.

"Yeah, I think I will."

"She left me." Scorpius said, his palm placed on the warm mug of tea he was drinking before Albus showed up.

"I told you she was going to react like that. You should've told her instead of pretending that you cheated!" Albus said as he sat across him.

"It wouldn't work. She had to hate me so it could be believable, but I was wrong. I know that."

"Bloody git. You don't know how painful it was to see my sister crying like that, mate."

"I'm sorry. I just thought I was doing the right thing, you know?" Scorpius replied, looking down at his feet.

"Well, you're going to have to do a little bit better if you still want to win her back."

"Wait, you think I can still win her back after everything I've done?"

"Yeah, I guess. If you try hard enough." Albus shrugged.

"So, are you saying I should go after her?" Scorpius asked.

"Not now! Give her time to cool off, she has a lot to process before she finally forgives you."

"What if she never forgives me?"

"She'll come to her senses." Albus said dismissively as a barista placed a tray of pasta and tea on their table.

"What about your cousins? Did you tell them what really happened?"

Albus nodded as he took a bite of his pasta. "Yup. I told them while Lily and Fred were gone."

"Do they believe it?"

"Yeah, but Molly and James are still kind of doubtful."

"I can't blame them. Molly's a friend of Scamander and James is really protective of Lily." Scorpius sighed and drank his tea.

Albus simply nodded, evidently busy eating his pasta. Scorpius chuckled as he stared blankly at his own plate.

"I'll win her back."
