When they got out of the train, Lily and Scorpius separated ways and went to their house tables in the Great Hall.

Scorpius sat with Gabriel during the feast since sitting beside Olivia wasn't an option if he wanted Lily to stay with him.

"How was christmas break?" Gabriel asked, his mouth still full.

"Dull. Yours?"

"I got laid, man. That Collins girl was damn fine. Oh! By the way, did you get back with Potter?"

"Yeah, just a few days ago, actually. . . And her name is Lily not Potter."

Gabriel looked at Scorpius as if to check if he was serious. When he was, Gabriel said, "You must really fancy her, huh?"

"I love her." Scorpius said firmly.

"And does she," Gabriel looked at Scorpius cautiously. "Feel the same way?"

That question got Scorpius into thinking.

Did Lily really love him?

If she did, why was it so hard for her to say it?

"I. . . Don't know." Scorpius answered and looked down at his half-empty plate.

"You got it bad, mate. Are you sure she didn't. . . I don't know? Give you a love potion?"

"Fuck you, man." Scorpius chuckled and pushed his friend lightly.

"I just had to check." Gabriel laughed and shrugged innocently.

After the welcoming feast, Scorpius went back to the Slytherin common room with his friends, though his thoughts were back in the train.

Did he pressure Lily into saying 'I love you' back?

Was it too early for that? They've just patched things up a few days ago and maybe Lily's feelings were still fragile.

He knew that Lily loved him, of course. Lily's a girl and most girls find it hard to say what they feel. But instead, they show them with their actions.

.

.

.

But what if Lily wasn't sure if she loved him?

Did he scare her off by saying I love you?

He got more worried over such a little issue and there were more problems that he needed to face right now. . .

The second task.

Scorpius sat on one of those emerald green couches near the fireplace, absentmindedly tapping his fingers on the arm rest.

"Hey, Malfoy." Olivia greeted and sat beside him

"Oh, hey. How was christmas break?" Scorpius smiled.

"I got back with Matt! We're okay now."

He wanted to say something about how she could bare the thought of his boyfriend cheating on her and still taking him back, but he probably wouldn't understand their relationship and he had no place to question her decisions.

"That's great, Liv. Lily and I are back together, too. . . and I told her about our plan."

"You did? Then you're okay with her getting in danger in the Competere?"

"Of course not, but I can't just break up with her just because of a stupid game. It's not worth it." Scorpius shrugged.

"Point taken, but Scorp?"
