Today is the big day, my official audition for Bandslam. After going through the video auditions I had gotten the call to audition for the architects along with 39 others in the hopes of competing to join the next big band.
I've always loved the idea of being in a group, having others to share the experience with so when I heard about the second season of Boy Band looking to form a band of two girls and and two guys I applied immediately. Now that I'm actually here though I can't help but wish that my brother was with me, but I know that he is supporting me from back home.
As I walk into the green room where we will be briefed before auditions all I see are beautiful girls and guys hanging around in groups. I spot a group of girls in crazy heels and tight dresses before looking down at my own outfit, instantly regretting how dull I look in comparison. Why did I think that comfort was the way to go? I'll never stand out now. I turn to my side and see a girl with bleached blonde hair spot me and begin laughing.

I walk towards the back couches, hoping to disappear for a bit before I spot a girl with blonde hair sitting with a guitar and another guy. I notice that she is also wearing laidback clothes unlike the others.
"Hey" I say as I wave and sit on the next couch over. "Hey, I love your hat" the girl responds enthusiastically. "Thanks, I love your jacket. I feel like we are the only ones who didn't get the dress and heels memo" I tell her, gesturing towards the other girls. "Eh heels are overrated, it should be about our voices anyway" she says as she shakes her head at the girls reapplying their makeup in the mirrors.
"Agreed, I'm Samantha by the way but everyone calls me Sam" I introduce myself. "I'm Addilyn and this is Riley" she says gesturing to the brunette guy next to her. "So where are you from?" he asks with a smile. "Originally from Australia but I moved to Chicago about two years ago" I explain. "What about you guys?" I ask. "We're both from Cleveland, Ohio" Addilyn responds.
"I'm assuming that you guys already know each other then?" I guess. "Yep, unfortunately I've been stuck with this one since we were kids" Riley responds whilst laughing and wrapping an arm around Addilyn's shoulder. She pushes him off laughing, "Yeah we've been friends for a while, our parents are good friends" she explains.
We all hit it off right away and continue talking until the producers come into the green room and gather everyone to the front.
"Hi everyone, thanks for being so patient and waiting. You should all know what you're here for, to audition to become apart of the next big band. Since you are here today we obviously see potential but it's now time for you to impress the architects. You will each audition for Nick, Emma and Timberland who will then cut down the top 40 to the top 22. From there you will compete in the knockout round where you will be split into four groups with one person leaving each. We will give you more information as the competition continues but for now make sure that you have at least two songs prepared and get warmed up. We'll call for you to come to stage in about 10 minutes" the producer finishes before hurrying off towards stage.
