About an hour after settling into our hotel rooms the groups are all going to gather at the pool to decide on songs for the knockout round. I knock on the door to the connecting room, which by luck happened to be Addilyn's room. "Come in" she calls. I walk in and jump onto her bed next to Riley who was on his phone.
"You guys ready to head down?" I ask referring to the group meeting we have. "Yeah just give me a minute to put my shoes on" Addilyn calls from the bathroom. "So are you excited to spend some more time with the witch?" Riley asks with fake enthusiasm. I had told them both about what Courtney had said to me earlier and we all decided that we didn't like her much.
"Shut up! How is your group anyway?" I ask giving him a playful shove for teasing me. "I think it's going to be really great, they are all super talented. You remember Finn?" he replies. "The first guy to audition right?" I ask. "Yeah, he's in my group and seems like a nice guy" he explains, whilst offering me a hand to get off the bed. "Lucky" I reply, letting him pull me up off the bed. "Okay, let's go" Addilyn says opening the door to the hallway.

"Alright so are we all happy with Infinite as our band name?" Lucy asks looking at the rest of us. We all nod in response, well except for Courtney who rolls her eyes since her idea was shut down.
"Cool, so now its just down to song choice. Does anyone have ideas?" Lisa asks. "What if we did something stripped back? Just a guitar and really work on an interesting vocal arrangement with harmonies to show that we can work well in a group?" I suggest grabbing my guitar out of its case.
"No we should do a power ballad or something, may as well show them how strong my vocal range is. Oh wait power is something you need to work on isn't it Sam?" Courtney says whilst giving me a fake sympathetic look. "Agreed" Tara chimes in, looking to Courtney for approval. Great we have a follower.
"Well why don't we try out both and see what sounds better?" Lucy suggests, trying to keep some harmony in the group. I begin aimlessly strumming on my guitar until an idea pops into my head. "Do you guys know the song Honeymoon Avenue by Ariana Grande?" I ask with a huge smile.
After practising for about an hour we decide to head back to our rooms for some sleep before rehearsals the next day. Riley walks Addilyn and I back to our rooms before continuing down the hallway to his own room. As I get ready for bed I look back into my guitar case and look at the picture of my parents attached inside. I hope they are proud.
