Chapter 8: Luke

The sun rised as it passed through the windows of every house in the city. Passing through the window, Raven winced at the bright sun, hitting her face as her eyes slowly flew open. She sat up as she blinks her eyes. She felt her head groggy so she held up her head. She stood up from the bed and walked slowly towards the door; passing by at Beast boy who was still sleeping as he drooled and snored.

She exited the room; it was quiet. She noticed Luke's room was dead quiet as well; probably he's not yet up. This was a good feeling for Raven, she enjoyed having a quiet atmosphere.

As her eyes roam around the room, something caught her eye.

It's a picture of a family; probably Luke's family. But Raven wondered why he was living alone in such a small place. She then noticed that his house was full of teddy bear figures.

His lamp has a teddy bear design, he has sculptures of Teddy bears, she also noticed an old teddy bear back at their room.

There is definitely something with these teddy bears, Raven thought as she looked for more teddies across the room. She walked towards the bathroom and noticed his tooth brush has a teddy design too! The teddy is something important, isn't?

Raven then walked towards the kitchen, debating with her mind whether she should cook or let Luke cook. But then she decided not to cook, it would be too embarassing to cook when you can't even cook pancakes properly.

Instead, she looked around the house. She walked pass portraits, frames and pictures. She quickly noticed several pictures of two boys together; one ... two ... three ...four. There are four pictures of them together. The first picture is seen with two boys, a blonde boy and a brown haired boy who were playing at the swings.

The second picture is seen with the two same boys with colorful party hats on their head and celebrating their birthday since they had a cake which says 'Happy birthday!'.

The third picture is seen with the same two boys painting at 2 easels.

The fourth picture is seen with the two boys having a proper picture with the blonde boy holding a huge teddy bear and the brown haired boy beside him.

Raven glared at the pictures; how interesting.

"Is this how you spend your boring times? Looking at pictures?" a voice called behind Raven as she snapped her head immediately.

It was Luke; leaning on a wall with his arms crossed.

"No, I just find these pictures interesting." Raven replied with her monotone voice as she glared back at the pictures.

"Interesting? What's so interesting about the pictures?" Luke chuckled as he walked closer beside Raven and eventually looked at the pictures.

"It's very heart warming to see happy boys in a picture." Raven faintly smiled as she looked closer at the picture of the two boys.

Luke slightly lowered his head; Raven knew this would affect Luke's expression. Raven felt curious.

"Is that you?" Raven suddenly asked as she looked at the blonde boy at the picture. Luke slightly uppered his head as he glanced at the picture.

"Isn't obvious?" Luke chuckled as he thought of how childish he was before.

"It isn't." Raven formed a smile as she took a glimpse of Luke in a fraction of second and went back to the pictures.

"Say, who is the brown haired boy?" Raven asked nervously, hoping he wouldn't mind her asking.

Suddenly, Luke's expression changed. Like a sad expression where his eyes wandered with confusion and fear.
