Saki's P.O.V
Time passed in the blink of an eye and the morning of the sports festival finally arrived.
Unlike every other morning, my parents decided to go to U.A. High with me. They, and also my siblings, were enthusiastic to see me perform while I, on the other hand, was utterly anxious. What if I get disqualified in the first round?! What if I get beaten to a pulp so easily?! What if I get booed by the audience?!
"Saki-chan, you are worrying too much!" my father told me with a grin.
The two of us were somewhere inside the U.A. High stadium, making our ways to the room where students of Class 1-A were supposed to be gathering. My mother decided to buy some lunch and told us to go ahead. I was donning the school's P.E. uniform and my hero costume's black boots and was holding my schoolbag with my right hand. Papa must have noticed the nervousness dancing across my face.
A slightly heavy object fell on top of my head and I realized it was my father's large hand. His fingers spread wide across my hair and it honestly felt nice. It's as if he wanted to convey a hidden message that he was there for me. This silent act of solace managed to wipe some anxiety from within me and my mouth twitched into a smile.
"Don't worry. We believe in you," stated Papa, referring to him and the rest of the family, "Plus, your mother and I helped you a lot in your training. Your mom doesn't even know how to fight, but she still insisted on teaching you with everything she got for your sake. You have developed many techniques for your paper quirk. I am sure you will be amazing out there. Even if you fail at some point, take it as a lesson. Challenging roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Now don't be so nervous. Go out there and hold your head up high."
Throughout the time he gave me that speech, I was looking down on the ground with a distressed look playing across my face. But thanks to him, I felt some weight was lifted off of my chest and with that, I finally looked up and showed him a small smile of gratitude, "Thanks, Papa."
He ruffled my hair a little bit before he withdrew his hand. We carried on walking through the empty hallways but then I saw a giant figure turning around the corner and walking towards us. It was a tall man with a muscular physique. What stunned me about him were the bright flames enveloping his boots, some parts of his navy blue bodysuit, his beard, mustache, and also around his eyes.
My jaw dropped in shock upon perceiving the fact that the man in front of us was Endeavor, the No. 2 Hero, Todoroki Shouto's father! But apparently, Papa wasn't startled even the slightest bit at his sudden appearance. Instead, he threw his arm up and hollered with a beam of exuberance, "Enji!"
Endeavor immediately skidded to a halt upon hearing that cheerful voice and his intimidating eyes flitted to the both of us, especially my father. After taking a good two seconds of staring at Papa, he spun around briskly and walked away from us, eventually disappearing into the other hallway.
I sweatdropped while Papa exclaimed, "The heck?! Is that how you treat your friend?!"
I think what you two have is more of a one-sided friendship, Papa.
"Oh yeah, I bet you haven't known about this yet," my Papa informed me with a mischievous smile, "That guy, Endeavor, had once held you when you were a baby."
"What?!" I screamed in shock which was very rare for someone as shy as me, "Papa, you're jesting, right?"
Papa chuckled, "I am telling you the truth. You can ask your mom. He carried you when you were... umm... around three-years old. Well... actually, I kind of forced him to hold you so he could pass on that supposedly 'No. 2 Hero's Blessing' to you. If I were a good friend with All Might, I would've done the same thing to him too. Endeavor kept refusing to touch you like an angry, fiery man he is, but in the end, he held you for less than a second before he tossed you to me."
