THREE:

I woke up to the bright sun early on Saturday morning, but I shut my eyes quickly, hoping to fall back asleep. Not even ten minutes later, I heard my phone buzzing somewhere. I ruffled through papers on the floor next to my bed, reaching for my phone.

"What time is it?" I asked whoever called, only half awake.

I heard a chuckle before they answered, "Uhm, almost nine I think." The male voice sounded somewhat familiar.

"Okay, then who is this and why did you call so early?" I asked with a yawn.

"It's Jason. Sorry it's early, I didn't really look at the time." It's Jason?

"Oh, hi. How'd you get my number?" I said, sitting up now.

"Beth."

"Ah, okay," I smiled. Beth, of course, "So what do you need?" I continued.

"Uhm, I, er, wanted to know if you want to go to a fair later?" he stuttered. Was he nervous? No way, he couldn't have been. I mean, he's talking to me.

"Oh, that fair that Beth and Nate were talking about?" I remembered. They both wouldn't shut up about it. I guess fairs didn't really come around here?

"Yeah, that one," he answered.

"Awesome! It'll be so much fun! When can you pick me p?" I said excitedly; I love fairs.

"How's two?"

"Perfect, see you then!" I replied before shutting my phone.

I may have not slept as late as I usually do, but this day might not turn out half bad!

Remember when I said that the day might not turn out half bad? Well somebody should've slapped me then.

It turned out that I got some sort of food poisoning earlier. So, just think; food poisoning + rides at the fair = me puking my guts out. And believe me, I tossed my cookies at least three times before going home.

Luckily, Beth was there to hold my long brown hair back, so Jason and Nate didn't see me while I was 'sick'. You see, Jason and I met up with Beth and Nate at the fair, and we walked around for a little. After the Ferris wheel (yes, a simple ride like that), I knew something didn't feel right. As soon as Jason and Nate went on another ride next to us, I tossed my cookies the first time in a nearby garbage can. Then, I started walking to a bathroom at the closest building while Beth told the guys I wasn't feeling well.

And then Beth took me home with Nate's car, while Nate got a ride with Jason (don't worry, I didn't throw up in the car). I also learned nothing about Jason, and I didn't spend any time with him except on the Ferris wheel. Life sucks.

On Monday, I was extremely tired. I went through my classes like a blur. I kept thinking of yesterday, when Jason called to see if I was better. That was sweet. However, I just heard that on the voicemail, because I was still too embarrassed to pick up the phone.

And now, I had to face him. Well, it's either that or never leave my house again, but I don't think I could live with my sister and parents that much more. Soon, it was time for Chemistry class, and I sat down quietly at my desk. The teacher passed back our re-take tests and I got a 92 on it!

"Yes!" I said louder than I wanted to.

"Good job," Jason said with a smirk. He didn't have to re-take it.

"Thanks, my parents might actually be proud of me for once," I said, smiling at the thought. Jason smiled back and sat down.

On the way to lunch, Jason quietly walked with me to my locker.
