FIVE:

I was with Cody at the park again on Sunday, and we talked for hours. I learned a few things about him, like his obsession with fruit. I thought that was funny. I told him a little about me as well.

I wasn't sure how Jason was going to react to the news of Cody and I going out. I mean, we were just friends anyway, but I still like him. Even though, that's wrong of me, to like one guy still while I'm going out with another, but I couldn't help it. Maybe I'll feel as if Jason's just going to always be a friend soon. Just not yet.

"Earth to Seraphina!" Beth yelled in my ear, waving her hand in front of my face.

"Sorry, I was just thinking."

"About?"

"Stuff. Like Cody and me."

"What about?" She looked confused.

"Cody didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"We're going out," I said simply.

"Really! How'd it happen?"

Just as I was about to tell her my weekend events, the bell rang and I told her I'd tell her at lunch.

Chemistry actually went by fast, and I noticed as soon as I sat down that Jason wasn't there. But, I saw him already at the lunch table, and he smiled as I sat down. About two seconds later Beth jogged up to the table.

"So was it love at first sight!" Beth asked before she could even sit down.

"What are you talking about now?" Jason said. Beth was always talking about something absurd, so Jason wasn't surprised about her opening conversation at lunch.

"Cody and Seraphina. I wanted to know if it was love at first sight or something," she grinned.

"Am I missing something?" Jason asked confused. I looked around for Cody, but he wasn't here yet.

"Don't pretend like you don't know. Seraphina and Cody are going out."

"Oh." He said, looking down at his hands.

"Cody didn't tell you?" I asked, and I could tell Beth wondered the same thing.

"Nope."

I was silent the rest of lunch, and so was Jason. But Beth and Nate talked enough for the both of us. Why didn't Cody tell Jason we were going out? They're best friends, and they are always hanging out together. This got me curious.

"Anyone know where Cody is by the way?" I asked the table.

"Library," Jason answered.

"Okay, thanks, I'm going to go talk to him. See you guys later."

Jason's Point Of View:

"Haven't you talked to Cody at all?" Beth asked me after Seraphina left for the library in search of him.

"Yeah, we hung out with Sera Friday and Saturday. And he texted me briefly on Sunday."

"That's weird, I wonder why he didn't tell you. I found out earlier today, but I thought since you two were closer that he'd tell you as soon as it happened," she shrugged.

Yeah, I thought so too. Cody and I have always been close friends, so why the hell do I feel so betrayed? Couldn't he tell I liked Seraphina? Or did he know, but still go out with her anyway? And why the hell didn't he give me a heads up about it? Because right now I could've used a warning. I feel like my somewhat perfect world is breaking down now. What am I going to do now?
