Petals and thorns

Thorns are sharp

Petals are soft

I'm in between

Nobody knows who I am...

They call me hanahaki....

Because of my disease.

I was born with it.

My sister doesn't have it.

But I do.

And I hate it.

It's a disability to me.

The thorns grow thicker

and thicker to my body and....

Sometimes......

I can't get free.

I feel like a tree.

I'll become one.

One day.

My life is meaningless.

Petals.

And more petals.

And more petals.

But....I'm used to it.

I wake up every morning with the usual: the old pile of petals at the edge of my bed, thorns and "stems" on my arms and legs, and that's it. I shrugged it off and got out of bed. "Another day.....another prick." I murmured.
