Lauren's POV

Waking up in the morning I was a little slower then usual. I didn't go to bed until about four. Thinking about Cameron's words and how mad he was at me. It just made me worry if he still cared about me.

Sure we have fought before. And yes, all our fights revolve around the fact that I need to stop talking to this boy. Or that I'm "cheating" on him because I hang out with a guy for to long.

And in the end in always crying over the fact that he might break up with me.

You'd think I'd learn and get over him. But I don't give up on people. I believe Cameron just plays the perfective boyfriend a little more then needed. Plus, I love him.

Even if his never said it back.

"You know, Lauren. Maybe this is the universe telling you to finally break up with him. I've told you before Cameron is not a good guy." Jen tells me as we sit together at lunch.

I had skipped first period. Mostly because it was my only class with Cameron, and because I couldn't see Shawn. Not because I blamed him for the fight. I just don't want him to worry about me.

After he dropped me off after my little "break down"? If that's what you call it.

He was so nice and with everything going on with his family. I don't want to have Cameron bugging him. And I certainly don't want him to worry about my stupid boy problems.

"Why do you keep saying that Jen? I can take care of my problems with Cameron without breaking up with him. I love him so I'm not giving up on him."

"Well maybe you should give up." She said with that same look of guilt.

I just ignore it and move on to something I have been wondering about.

"Anyways... Where have you been? Its like I hardly see you anymore."

Jen shifts in her spot as she picks at her food. "My mom wanted me .... She needed help with... something."

"Oh... Everything okay?" I ask.

"Yeah... Yeah. Of course just... needed to do my chores nothing big." She stutters.

"Okay." I smile. "Well maybe I can come over this weekend and we can hang."

"No you cant!" Jen rushes making my smile fade. "Its just... I have to work a shift at the cafe."

"Cool, then we will have to work something out another time." I smile again.

Soon we were both dismissed to go to class again.

I walked to the art room wondering if Shawn was going to show up.

What am I saying? Shawn has never missed a class in his life. Hopefully he doesn't bring it up or anything and we can just talk about normal things.

Not that I had much time to think about it. Mostly because Shawn was sitting at the table I usually sit at.

He had his nose in his book like always. His hair wasn't in a quiff like always but seemed curly. It looked nice. He had on a black shirt with the sleeves pulled up to his elbows. Shawn also had on black pants and he all black converse. Of course I couldn't forget his glasses that he was wearing as well.

"Hey." I say, quieter then I expected.

Shawn's head shoots up as he gives me a small smile. "Hey... you weren't in science."

I let out a sigh and sit down beside him. "Yeah... sorry. I just can't seem to face him yet."

"You know a pretty girl like you shouldn't be stressing over a guy. So lets just talk about something else."

I giggle at his compliment. "Thanks Shawn." I smile.

Pulling out my project, I continue to draw the picture. It was of girl, just her face. With her whipping her hair and headphones around her neck.

"That's looks awesome. You really have to teach me to draw like that." Shawn says.

I giggle and look up at him. "Oh really..."

"A yeah! Have you seen my art work?" Shawn gestured to his page.

I laugh at the fact he had a guitar but it had lines in the middle which made me wonder. What they could be.

"I get that its a guitar and all... But what are those lines suppose to be?" I ask as I point at them.

"Trees. The trees make up a picture of a guitar. If I could draw it better I could." he says before pausing. "... I want it to be my first tattoo."

A grin makes it's way across my face. "Well you're eighteen right." he nods. "Then do it, it would be awesome.... Unless you're not ready."

Shawn chuckles and passes me the paper with his tattoo on it. "Well if I'm going to do that I'm gonna need a better drawing... care to do that for me?"

"Oh I will, but only if you bring me with you when you get it."

Shawn nods with a smile and I quickly get to work on the drawing.

The day seemed to be coming to an ending real quick. That meant me having to talk to Cameron was also coming real quick.

Don't get me wrong I want to fix this rough patch we are in. I just don't want to annoy him.

Walking down the hall I didn't see Jen at her locker, and I didn't see Cameron at his.

But heading towards my locker I could see the back of Cameron's head.

He had his head in his phone with a smirk.

"Hey." I say, barely over a whisper.

Cameron turns his head to me and his smirk fades to a thin line.

"Look, Lauren.... I'm sorry about blowing up at you yesterday." He says as if he didn't care at all. "I just got mad and you know what happens when I get mad."

"Oh... yeah." I nod.

Cameron sighs and pecks my lips. "I knew you'd get it. See ya later, babe."

With that he places his head back into his phone and walks over to Nash and Taylor. Leaving me a wondering mess.

He didn't give me a chance to speak. Cameron barely even apologized. Usually he would at least take me home and we'd hangout. Now it just felt like he didn't care and wanted it done with.

Opening my locker I slowly put my things away, with a frown on my face.

"You okay?" I hear beside me.

I close my locker and turn to see Matt, blushing and holding onto the straps of his backpack.

I put on a half smile and sling my backpack over my shoulder.

"I'm fine. Thanks for asking though, Matt."

"Well I saw what happened and I just wanted to say if you wanted.... Jack, Shawn, and I are hanging at cafe tonight to do homework and eat... Do you want to come? It will get your mind off things." He smiles.

"If you don't mind..." I say.

Its not like I had anything else to do. Plus Jen was working at the cafe. Maybe I'd see her.

"I don't mind at all, and I'm sure Shawn and Jack won't either."

"Okay... Then sure." I smile.

"Cool now I hope you don't mind but.... I don't have a ride..." he blushes again.

"I'll give you a ride Matthew." I laugh.

He raises his eyebrows and pushes his glasses up.

"Wow. Usually only my mom calls me Matthew." He says.

"Well make that your mom and me." I laugh. He just laughs and shakes his head. "Come lets go."

***********

Hopefully this wasn't to short. I tried to start a relationship between Matt and Lauren. I think they could be friends lol. What do you think?
