Shawn's POV

*There is bad language in this chapter so if you don't like that here is a warning*

Aaliyah had a nightmare last night which kept me up half the night trying to calm her down. By the time she finally fell asleep it was about four in the morning.

So deciding that I wouldn't be falling asleep anytime soon. I head down stairs to make some coffee or something. Yet, sitting in at the kitchen table was Lauren. She was on her laptop typing something.

"Hey, Lauren. What are you doing?" I ask, taking a seat.

Her head shot up as she gave me a smile. "Oh yeah. Just finishing this paper for school. What are you doing?"

"Oh just couldn't sleep."

After talking to Lauren for a while and helping her with her paper we decide to get ready for school.

"Remember, my mom will be taking us to lunch. She wants to meet you guys." Laurens says.

"I can't wait." Aaliyah smiles.

We all pile into my car and I drop off Aaliyah first.

"Can I ask you something Shawn?" Lauren asks as we pull up to the school.

"Yeah. Anything." I say looking into her bright blue eyes.

She sighs. "Well... you're a boy. And um.... do you know what it means when  you haven't talk or try to see the girl your dating for a couple days?"

Was this about Cameron? Of course it is Shawn. God this makes me hate his guts even more. He has the girl of my dreams and he treats her like trash, when he should be treating her like a princess.

I have had enough of this.

"Is this about Cameron?" I ask Lauren calmly, but on the inside I'm furious.

"Well yeah kinda. I haven't seen or heard from him since his crappy apology." Lauren shrugs.

The sad, longing look on her face makes me want to smash Cameron's face in. How can he be this big of a prick and still have Lauren's heart?!

Without another word I quickly rush out of the car. Anger oozing out of every part in my body.

"Shawn!? Shawn, where are you going!?" Lauren calls after me.

I ignore her but once we get to the front doors she grabs my hand. "Shawn what are you doing? Please talk to me. Why are you mad?"

I sigh and take my hand away. Before I can say anything I catch Cameron and Nash flirting with two cheerleaders. Heat rushed to my cheeks and my hands form fists as I huff out a responds. " I can't let him keep getting away with this."

With that I take after Cameron. Just the sight of him made me want to punch him. Which is what I plan to do.

Once I'm up to the group I slide the blond out of the way and push Cameron roughly against the lockers. He looked shocked then angry.

"What the hell, Mendes?! What the fuck is your problem?!" He spits.

"You're my problem you piece of shit! The way you are treating Lauren right now is not okay. And I'm not going to sit down and let you do it."

"What me and Lauren do is none of your business. I swear..." Cameron shoves me.

"Swear what? Are you gonna have Taylor hit me again? Because you can try but this time I'm gonna fight back. God! Why can't Lauren see how much of a dick you are? Do you want me to tell her about all the girls you are with when she isn't near. Because I was planning to..."

"Watch your mouth kid!" Cameron yells.

He takes a swing at me and that is all I remember before Mr. Hood our principal pulls us apart. "Enough! You two are coming with me!"

As he drag us with him I look over to see Lauren standing there with Matt by her side. She had tears running down her cheeks and was looking straight at me.

And by just seeing that made me feel so bad. I made her cry. My stomach turns at the thought of me making her cry. I didn't want that to happen.

But she was soon lost in the crowd as Mr. Hood drags us to his office.

***

Mr. Hood talked to us one at a time, Cameron went first then me. After I explained my side he let me go with a three day suspension. Cameron got a week for starting the fight.

I didn't care though. All I really care about in that moment was Lauren and if she was okay. She heard what I had said to Cameron. I didn't want to tell her he was like that, like that. She didn't deserve that.

I was going to look for her but didn't have to as she was waiting for me in the office.

She rushes up to me and wraps her arms around my neck. Quickly I wrap mine around her waist and snuggling my head into her neck.

We stay there for a minute before the office lady tells us we have to leave. So we make our way back to the car.

So much for school.

Once we are in the car it went quite. I didn't start the car because we both knew we needed to talk first.

"I'm sorry." I whisper,

"For what?" Lauren asks. "You were right Shawn. Cameron is no good for me. Was it true what you said about him? That he's with other girls?"

"Um.. I think yeah me and the boys have seen him and his friends around town a couple times." I sigh. "I was going to tell you just not like that."

Lauren sighs this time putting her head in her hands. "I'm so stupid! How could I not have seen it? I always thought it was me who did something wrong. All because I 'loved' him."

I take her hands in mine as I lift her head up. "You're not stupid. Don't think like that Lauren."

"You're too nice to me Shawn." She laughs.

"And you are too nice to me Lauren." I smile.

She just sticks her tongue out at me and I playfully roll my eyes making her laugh.

"I'm gonna call my mom and tell her what happened. For now let's just go home please." Lauren says as I start the car.

"We still need to talk when we get home Lauren. I have something I want to talk to you about."
