Lauren's POV

The car ride to Jen's was quiet. Besides me giving Shawn her address we didn't speak a word. It wasn't a weird silence. I was mostly thinking about how Jen could ever do this to me. I can't believe my best friend of six years would do that.

I mean we knew everything about each other. She was practically my sister. Jen wouldn't do this, I don't believe it.

Yet, she is never around anymore, she has been lying about where she has been, and she has been wanting me to break up with Cameron.

Maybe what he said was true.

"Is this it?" Shawn asks as he pulls into Jen's driveway.

"Yeah. I will only be a second." I sigh, getting out of the car.

I'm not sure I can do this again. If what he said was true I would never be able to look at her the same way again. Which is why I'm hoping it's just Cameron putting thoughts into my head. I mean she is my best friend she would never do anything like this to me.

Would she?

I knock on the door and within seconds she is in front of me.

Jen was wearing her pajamas and her blond hair was tied up in a pony tail. She didn't have any make up on and seemed pretty shocked to see me.

"Oh. Hi Lauren I didn't know you were coming..." Jen says studying my face. "What's with the face? Did something happen. Why don't you come in and tell me."

I just shake my head as I play with my hands.

"No it's ok. I just... came to ask you something it won't take that long."

I look up to see her confused expression. I couldn't do this. Cameron was lying. I just know it.

But I have too. I trusted Cameron and it turned out he was an ass. Maybe Jen is the same?

"Um... I broke up with Cameron tonight." I finally say.

Jen looked shocked. She doesn't try and comfort me or get me inside. Instead she asks a simple question.

"Why?"

"I think you know. It's the reason you have been trying to get me to see. That he is a bad guy and all."

"Oh yeah... well why are you telling me this here. Come inside."

"No! Um- it's just after I broke up with him... he said some things." I say.

"What kind of things?" Jen looked nervous now. "Why can't you just come inside?!"

I shake my head again. "Cameron said that-that you and him slept together." The words sounding bitter on my tongue.

Jen looked angry. And that's when I knew this was gonna get out of hand.

"And you believe him?!" She asks.

"Well should I? I mean I haven't seen you in forever and you lied to me about you being at work..."

She stops me. "How do you know that?"

"I was at the restaurant when you said you were working. And when I asked the guy if you were there he said no." I explain.

Jen looked nervous again. "I can explain that it's just-"

"Just what Jen? Can't you answer my question? Did you or did you not sleep with my boyfriend?" I asked again.

All she did was look down. My heat dropped.

"No.... Jen how could  you do that!?" My eyes start to tear up. I didn't believe this.

"Lauren, I'm sorry. I never meant to it's just-" Jen stutters.
