Lauren's POV:
I drove as quickly as I could to Shawn's. When I pulled up to see him on the curb with his head in his hands and his shoulders shaking. Well it almost broke my heart. He didn't seem to notice me though as I walk up to him.
I sit beside him and place my arm around his shoulder. "Are you okay?"
Shawn looks up with tears in his eyes. Then less then a second after he pulls me into him. "It was so bad, Lauren. So bad..."
"Shh... it's going to be okay Shawn." I pull away, and stand up offering him my hand. "Why don't we go to my place and we can address everything there. I can make us some hot coco, and we can talk about whatever you want... I can make dinner as well."
Shawn wipes away his tears and takes my hand. "Yeah... that would be nice."

Mixing up the hot coco mixture, I finish the drinks and carry them to where Shawn sits on the couch. He had his head in his hands again. I felt bad for the guy, he didn't need this.
"Here you go." I say as Shawn lifts his head.
He takes the mug and holds it in his lap. I sit beside him with good distance and sip at my hot coco.
We sit in silence for awhile. I could tell Shawn was deep in thought as I watched him stare at floor. I just sit patently and wait for him to think everything through.
I hear Shawn sigh again as he turns to look at me. "I'm sorry you had to see me cry like that." He apologize.
"You don't have to be sorry. It's fine." I say as I place my mug on the coffee table.
My eyebrow fold together as I notice his big reddish cheek with a tint of purple. "What happened?" I ask as the tips of my fingers gently brush against it.
Shawn's eyes flutter shut at my touch. Making me take my hand away instantly.
"Um... I may have gotten into a fight with Frank." Shawn says with pure hatred. Opening his eyes again he stares at the door.
"Wait... you got in a fight? Why? ...and who is Frank?" I ask.
Shawn sighs and falls back against the couch. "Frank, is my mother's boyfriend... ugh! I can't believe I thought he would be the man I was hoping for. Now I have to give up on my mom. Which is something I should have done for Aaliyah a long time ago..." He glances up at me with sad eyes. "H-he broke my father's guitar, Lauren."
"Wait the guitar you show me the other day, that you cared so much about? How... why would he do that?"
"He's a jerk." Shawn says sitting up.
"You could say that again." I mumble.
Maybe I should help him get his guitar fix? I mean it would make him happy. That is if it can be fix. I have money I could use that I have stashed away. And by the looks of it he may not get that many gifts. Having to put Aaliyah before him and everything. It would be nice. I might just do it.
Shawn sighs again and place his head in his hands. He looked so stressed. I felt so bad. This is something no one like him or Aaliyah should go through.
I notice the two bags sitting at the door way. One pink and the other a navy blue. Made me wonder about Aaliyah. "Where's Aaliyah?" I ask Shawn.
He sits up and places his mug down too. "At a friends for the night."
I nod. At least she wasn't there to see that.
Looking back at Shawn I frown at how tired and worn down he is. "Maybe we should get some rest we will figure everything out in the morning when Aaliyah is here." I say sitting up.
Shawn nods and sits up as well. He grabs his bag and we make our why up to the guest room. I open the door and gesture towards it. "Here is where you will be staying. The bathroom is just two doors down and mine is right across the hall." I smile, pointing towards my door. "If you need anything don't be to shy to ask."
By the end of my little speech, I glance at Shawn to catch him staring at me with a small smirk. Why was he staring at me like that? Did I have something on my face?
"What? Is there something on my face?" I giggle as I push a piece of hair behind my ear.
Shawn shakes his head. "Sorry. Was j-just looking."
I smile and make my way to my room. "Goodnight."
But before I could make it two steps. Shawn quickly grabs my wrist, pulling me towards him. "Would you mind staying with me?"
"You mean... like... like a... sleepover?" I ask.
Shawn chuckles and scratches the back of his neck. Was he serious? "Yeah, like a sleepover Lauren."
"Oh. Um... okay. Just let me go get my pajamas."
"Okay." Shawn lets go of my wrist as I resume my way to my room.
As quickly as I can I take off my makeup, and put on a red shirt with the matching plaid pajama pants. I place my phone in its charger and brush my teeth. All while the same thought wondered at the back of my head. How am I going to tell my mother?
I mean she is a very nice woman and would gladly take them in. But that doesn't mean she won't yell at me.
I walk back to find my gaze upon Shawn's shirtless back and the back of his plaid boxers. While he talks on the phone. "Oh." I say, covering my eyes.
"I'll talk to you later, Jack." I hear Shawn say along with the opening of a dresser. "Okay you can look now."
I take my hand down and find him in a white tee and black basketball shorts. Smiling sheepishly, "Probably should have knocked." I say.
"It's fine." He smiles.
I just nod and sit down on the edge of the bed. I let out a sigh as I snuggle into the pillow. "I'm tired."
I hear Shawn chuckle as the light flickers off. I feel a weight into the bed. I turn to find Shawn already looking at me. And we stay that way, just looking at each other. His brown eyes staring back at my blue ones. We stay that way until our eyes slowly closer.
"Thank you, Lauren Williams." Is the last thing I hear before I drift off to sleep.
