The rueful parting

That very moment when Link lifted his pained visage, everything went downhill.

The heartbroken Hero can't believe that he was being tricked all along, that he's basically companions with the main enemy. He stared in disbelief and hurt at the girl who had entered his life and made a role in it. Why? Why didn't he notice? Pressing his lips to a thin line, he marches up to her. She didn't step down, however, she held her ground. Her face mirrored his own perfectly, as if a copy. But it can be seen that she's rather guilty than sorry.

He takes her by her left shoulder and raises up the sleeve. Tears basically stung his eyes as he shook his head furiously, that simple silver Triforce marked at her shoulder is enough to tell him that everything is real.

"Link.." (Name) whispers softly.

The teen angrily turns away from her, afraid that if he looked at her, he'll lash out then and there. Despite being mad, he doesn't want to hurt her.

Even if she lied to him.

"Who is Death?"

"I-I don't know."

"Why'd you have to lie?" he asks, his voice cracking in the process. Through his pointed elfish ears, he hears her breathing in deeply. The tension around them grew twice in thickness, both are deeply moved by the unsuspecting events.

"It was for the best.." she mumbles firstly before continuing.

"I need to accompany you to the Vessels and help you get out of this Void. Not only that, but I am the barrier keeping Death away from you. I desired to protect you." (Name) replies, her voice timid and gentle.

Link clenches his fist as he bit his lower lip, completely dismissing her reason as he grumbles. "So you were the one responsible for Zelda's sleep, and the upcoming doom of Skyloft?" he asks. Silence filled the air along with the already thick tension. Everything broke to him when he heard her silent affirmation.

"Yes."

For a split second, he sees her stern look faltering to a solemn one, but she immediately picks up back her courage.

"That's why I appeared to you, I wanted to help you-"

"That doesn't change the fact that you're still the enemy, (Name)! Or should I say Death!?" Link shouts.

The girl gasps in shock, taking a step backwards in his outburst. Link never was the one to shout, he's always so calm about everything. This simply indicated that she'd done great in breaking his trust. She looks to the ground, sighing lightly of the events.

Of course, she is the sinful one.

"Listen, Link. I.. my darker self, had planned to sacrifice Zelda and use her blood to go back in time." she confesses. The Hero clad in green felt his heart snapping as he swiftly turned around, his eyes blaring with rage. This intimidation is thick, of course, but it isn't enough to bring the girl down. She'd gone through something worse than this, something more painful. But why does it still hurt?

"She swore to seek revenge on the Goddess incarnate; Zelda. She'd do anything to revive you back in the past!" (Name) shouts back. Confessing everything to the Hero who glared at her as if he wanted to lash out in madness.
