Dear Diary,
Today will be different. I've moved into the sleepy town of Mystic Falls. It's a new start. Nothing ever happens in Mystic Falls. No one knows me, and I don't know them. I will no longer be the crazy party girl who was in that accident. I am Skylar Andre, new girl.

"Honey I think it'd be good for you to explore the town. Maybe you'll make friends."
"Friends yay. That's always fun to do." Note my sarcasm.
"Hey this was supposed to be different." I nod to my parents. How can I forget the reason we moved? It's all my fault. It was halfway through senior year last month when I went to a party with some frat guys at the near by college. I was feeling particularly depressed that night because my boyfriend, ex boyfriend, cheated on me with my best friend. Tale as old as time I guess. I was handed drinks, then some more, and someone slipped something into my cup. That made me feel especially loopy. After that came the drugs, and lots of them. I guess things didn't mix right because the next thing I know was that I was in the hospital in another city and it was two weeks later. My parents said they couldn't find me until some nurse found a missing child's poster that looked like me. They also didn't want me to return to all the backlash our family was getting for that night. We moved 2,400 miles the following week that I regained consciousness and recovered. So now with only a couple months left of the school year I'll be a timber wolf at the high school here.
"Be careful!" Mom calls when I stumble out the front door. What's there to do in a town like this? It seems like a place old people go to die.

~Mystic Grill~

Well maybe this joint will accept my fake ID. There's absolutely no one interesting in this town and I've spoken to exactly zero people. Most faces were irritating and I wasn't feeling particularly chatty at the moment.

"Aren't you a bit young to be drinking?"
"And who are you? The police cause if so then I'll need to see some form of ID."
"Busted. Alright I'm not a cop, but I do work closely with them."
"Yet still not a police, so please stop wasting my time if you're not going to buy the next round."
"Another glass of..."
"Burbon."
"Two then. For me and this lovely lady who obviously has good taste in liquor. What's your name?"
"Julio, now thanks for the drink and goodbye."
"Come on why can't I know your name?"
"You want to know my name?" The stranger nods. "You have to earn it."
"Buying you a drink although you're clearly a minor didn't earn me that?"
"Nope it means you have poor judgment. See you around."

I head out of the Grill and walk around the small town, finding nothing and no one interesting. Somehow I managed to find the school I'll be attending tomorrow. Not just a Monday but also my first day.
"Are you following me?" The man from the bar smirks.
"Don't flatter yourself."
"Ouch."
"Aren't you a little old for high school?" I continue walking to one of the picnic tables.
"Aren't you a little young to be day drinking?" He follows.
"Touché." Both of us sit down on opposite sides.
"What can I do to learn your name?"
"What's your interest in my name? You're prowling on a minor."
"Are you a minor?"
"Maybe."
"Really because I think you're eighteen."
"And why would you guess that?"
"The tattoo of an arrow on your forearm."
"My parents were reckless and agreed to let me get one."
"Really?"
"It's a possibility."
"Clearly not a minor."
"Tell me your name first and I might consider telling you mine."
"Damon Salvatore."
"As in the one of the founders of this boring town?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Long distance family member. One of the two original Salvatore brothers. You certainly know your history."
"I wasn't about to move to a new town and not do my research."
"Just moved here?"
"Last weekend."
"I always hated moving."
"Well it's no picnic."
"So you're name?"
"Clementine Jorge."
"Pleasure to meet you."
"Are you certain I didn't give you a fake name?"
"For some reason I trust you."
"Big mistake Mr. Salvatore."
"I believe that because you're new in town you have no one to talk to. I think you desperately want someone to confide in, and I want that person to be me."
"Why's that? We did only just meet."
"You remind me of someone I used to know. Two people actually."
"Where are these two people?"
"Six feet under sadly. One of them deserves to be there but the other, well she wanted every human experience and so she got it."
"You loved her didn't you?"
"What makes you guess that?"
"That look in your eye when you just talked about her. The other though I think you don't care what happened to her."
"Spot on."
"Well I picked things up. I should be going before my parents get worried. I'll see you around, Damon."
"Goodbye Clementine."
"Oh please call me Skylar."
"It was a fake?"
"Of course it was. You just earned the knowledge of my real name. Skylar André." I smirk and walk back up the town to my new house.

"Where have you been?"
"Out."
"Mom Sky's home and she looks weird!"
"Shut up!"
"Hey no fighting you two. Daniel go to your room."
"I'm going to mine too."
"Hold on a minute young lady. Where'd you go? You were gone for a long time."
"A couple of hours isn't that long."
"Depends on who you were with."
"No one mom. I went on a walk by the bell tower and stopped for some lunch at the grill. After I walked around some more and got a little lost until I found the high school. The end."
"Did you meet anyone?"
"Just some guy. He was interesting."
"Oh really? What's his name?"
"Mom it's not important."
"Is he your age?"
"Kind of. I'm not sure since I didn't ask. He only seemed a couple of years older then me."
"I'm glad you're making friends but can we hold off on finding a boyfriend for a little?"
"I'll try my best. I'm gonna go take a nap and get ready for school."
