"Hope you can't use it for evil!"
"I will do whatever I see fit mother. I'm a witch again. I'm also a hybrid. I'm the most powerful thing on earth!"
"She's amazing Haylee."
"No I don't support this! Klaus what happened to raising her to be a calm young lady?"
"Young lady? Mom I'm almost a century old. This is my life!"
"And the girl? Are you going to torture her the rest of her life?"
"Why not? She'll end up dead with the Salvatore's anyways."
"Klaus!"
"Haylee! That's enough. Hope is free to make her own choices." Someone walks into the room I've been chained up in. I was eavesdropping to the conversation on the other side of the door.

"Hello. I'm Haylee Mikaelson." I'm uneasy and try to keep as much distance as possible. "I won't hurt you. I'm here to free you."
"What are you doing?"
"I'm not leaving this poor girl like this. She's going home Klaus."
"She's valuable!"
"So was Elena. Now let this girl leave."
"You were always more fun before you married Elijah."
"Hope can do whatever she wants but I will not stand by and let her become the monster you never wanted her to see as a child." That stung Klaus. He watches her unchain me. "You will go back to Mystic Falls and not remember the Mikaelson family. You won't remember anything that happened after Klaus and Hope found you. If anyone asks you were heavily drinking and got lost." I walk out of their home and to the airport. I'm home within a couple of hours.

"Skylar? Are you okay? How are you still alive?"
"Damon calm down. I'm fine. They used a lot of my blood and then I was fed vampire blood. Hope and Klaus took me to New Orleans until Haylee let me free. She told me to forget things but I can't."
"She compelled you?"
"Her  pupils got really big and she spoke so I could understand every word."
"You can't be compelled?"
"Why not?" Caroline asks Damon. They body search me until Damon reaches for my lucky bracelet. He's burned immediately. It was a family heirloom.
"Vervain." The two look at each other.
"Do you know what vervain is?" Caroline asks.
"An old herb my parents put in everything. Old family recipes passed through generations."
"Of course her family knew. They were Petrovas. Vervain keeps you from being able to be compelled."
"Explains why there was vervain in the hot chocolate."

~Damon and Sky alone at the boarding house~
"So you're all vampires?"
"Yep."
"That's what you couldn't tell me?"
"I'm sorry we had to keep it from you."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Shoot."
"Do you only like me because I look like Elena?"
"No. I've seen you be your own person since you've been here. It amazes me how different you two are. I like you because you're Skylar André the stubborn, courages, vulnerable young woman."
"Vulnerable?"
"I see it Sky. You're scared to show the real you, so you play the part of the tough girl who's edgy and crazy. Truly, you're broken. I want to be there when that girl shows." I stand up off the couch that we were both laying on. Damon sits up quickly and watches me try to grab my things and leave. "Sky? What are you doing?"
"I have to go. Goodbye Damon."

~later that night at Sky's home~

"Sky what's wrong sweeties?"
"Nothing goodnight." I storm past my mom and up to my room.

"Sky?"
"Leave me alone."
"Skylar please talk to me."
"It's nothing Danny. I'm fine."
"Did someone hurt you?"
"No."
"Come on talk to me."
"It's a guy."
"Oh?"
"I like him. I like him so much that I'm scared."
"Why? You've had boyfriends before."
"Not like this."
"Why don't you date him?"
"I can't. There's so much you don't know."
"Have you talked with him?"
"I'm too chicken."
"It'll all work out."
"Thanks Danny. Can you shut the door on your way out?"
"Sure thing."

~one in the morning~
I roll over to my side and hear the steady heart beat of his chest. My mind becomes alert that I'm no longer in bed alone.
"Morning sleeping beauty."
"Ahh!" I throw Damon off the bed, which barely moves him an inch. "What are you doing in my house?" I turn on my lamp.
"I didn't like how we left things. Your brother let me in."
"And who invited you into my bed?"
"Oh please you were dreaming of me." Busted. I was dreaming about him. Us on a date which led to being a couple and then getting married. Each passing day I grew older and he stayed a vampire. It made me sad.

"Why'd you rush out?"
"I don't want to talk about this."
"Sky please?"
"No."
"Skylar?"
"You had no right! You have no right to call me broken. You don't know me Damon Salvatore. I don't need you to rescue me. If you haven't noticed I've survived almost nineteen years without you!"
"I know you have, but I don't want you to anymore!"
"Why the hell do you care?"
"Because Skylar I do! I used to be just like you! The bad brother who was so tough. Elena broke through my walls and now I'm the man standing in front of you today. I love you and want to be with you!"
"You love me?" I choke up.
"Yeah Sky I do," he cups my face with his hand.
"That doesn't matter. We can't be together."
"Why not? You know my secret."
"Because for as long as we're together I'm always going to be wonder if it's because of me or because I look like her. I don't deserve that. Neither do you. I'm not Elena."
"I know you're not Elena. Can't you trust me?"
"I don't know anymore. I need some time to think. I believe it's best if you give me some space."
"No last time I did you got kidnapped!"
"Damon please?  This is what I need if you ever want us being a thought."
"I love you Sky." He flashes out of my room. I groan and fall into bed. I love you too is what I wanted so badly to say, but my mind knows I shouldn't.
