S1E10

"Seriously Damon? These letters aren't going to change the fact that you're the reason I'm dead. They need to stop."
"I swore I'd write them until you loved me."
"You're an idiot." I click the end call button.

"Skylar look what we have!"
"You brought me a person?" I look at the young, pale strawberry blond beside Stefan.
"This is Janet, and she's a witch."
"Wow I don't think I've ever met a witch. Hi I'm Skylar."
"Nice to meet you. I'm an old friend of Stefan and Caroline's. They asked me to make you a daylight ring now that you're a vampire."
"So I have to wear this ring for the rest of my existence?"
"Yep that's how it works," Stefan informed.
"Which one are you committing to?" I grab my rose-gold, diamond traced infinity ring. She mumbles a few words and within a few moments it was done. "Test it out." I slip the ring on and Caroline pulls out the curtains. I flinch, half expecting the ring not to work.
"Thank you guy!"
"Alright now that you can go out, we're going to teach you vampirism 101."

~In the Woods~

"So you want me to hunt Bambi?"
"Rule number one, you can't think like that."
"Okay, so what are we hunting?"
"You see that squirrel?" I nod. "That's breakfast."
"You want me to eat Mr. Fluffy-tail?" I yell at Stefan.
"Rule number two, never name them."
"But just look at them all! I'd rather starve then eat animals."
"How'd you used to eat meats?"
"Never looked at their faces."
"Rule number three."
"Babe, why don't we start her on a blood bag diet?"
"That's probably best and nothing had to die for me to obtain it." Stefan rolls his eyes then goes after his meal.

~At the Hospital~

"Okay so you just have to be really creative and unnoticeable when trying to take some blood bags from the bank. Usually we just come get some at night, and there's a fridge in our basement and one in the cellar of the boarding house. You can take from our supply since you still live with your family."
"Can I still eat human food?"
"Yes, and it sort of helps with the cravings. Eat like you normally would with your family, and keep your mind busy from thinking about the blood in their bodies. You've shown some really great restraint so far being around all these bodies, so I'm not that worried about you."
"What about me almost killing my brother?"
"Well your emotions are heightened so you have to try to calm down and not think about it. You'll get the hang of it, and whenever it gets too much you're always welcomed at our house."
"Thanks Care. Sometimes you feel like the only one who understands."
"I've been there more recently then the Salvatore brothers."
"I never asked what your story was."
"I was turned by Kathrine as a message to the Salvatore's. It worked out for me in the end because as a human I was insecure and small."
"I feel stable. My life was such a mess before, but now I know none of that will matter in a couple of decades."
"What about Damon?"
"He's an idiot. The letter second letter he sent me was sweet, but he's the reason I'm a vampire."
"You didn't want to be?"
"No I didn't, but now that I am I accepted it and I kind of love it."
"So why are you still mad at him?"
"He doesn't understand that I love him like crazy, but I don't know if I trust him."
"Damon loved Elena, and always will but it killed him when she passed away. It killed us all, that was until we met you. A spark went off in Damon and it was the complete opposite of him and her. He was open with you, and is clearly head over heels for you. You're my best friend Sky, and Elena and I always sort of had this competition with each other because she always got everything including Stefan. I don't feel that with you, I see you more like a sister to me."
"I love you Caroline."
"I love you too, but will you please try to give Damon another chance?"
"I have to think about it, but I might."

~Boarding House~

"How'd the blood bag hunt go?"
"Way better then killing innocent animals," I give Stefan a childish smile.
"Hello Skylar."
"Damon."
"Can we finish our phone call?"
"Fine." He grabs my hand and leads me to his bedroom. Caroline gives me a supportive smile before I hear her and Stefan exit the house.

"So?"
"I know you can't love me because of what I did, and I'm sorr..."
"Shut up."
"What?"
"I said shut up. I'm tired of hearing that you're sorry, I know you are and yeah I did hate you for two seconds."
"You don't hate me?"
"Idiot." I turn away from him, and see him stare at me from the mirror.
"I'm an idiot, and confused."
"I needed time to think about things. My world did a whole 180 turn within a couple of hours, and it was all because of you. I've had time to come to terms with what happened and now I'm grateful."
"Grateful?"
"Besides the fact that I want to rip everyone's throat out, I love being a vampire. Life is clear now. You're an idiot if you don't know how I feel about you."
"I'm the biggest idiot." I turn back around to face him. There's no more holding back all the feelings I had for him. Screw the fact that I looked like two of his ex's. I'm Skylar André, and he's the new Damon Salvatore. We write our own stories and I want mine to have him.

I finally jumped into his arms and kiss him hard. "I'm crazy in love with you Damon Salvatore."
