300 Years later
"I need to see some ID."
"I'm three hundred and eighteen years old."
"Funny."
"You think I'm kidding?" I used compulsion, "pass me that fine bottle of bourbon."
"With two glasses." I'm shocked by the voice behind me. The young bartender passes me the bottle and two glasses.

"Isn't it a bit early for day drinking?"
"Damon. What are you doing here?"
"Same thing as you I see, day drinking." I poured him his glass as he sat beside me. "So am I seeing ghosts now?"
"Damon I'm so sorry."
"Not to be that guy, but why aren't you dead?"
"Long story short I found some people who claimed there was a cure to vampirism like Elena. Sent on a wild goose chase around the globe to see that she took the only one. I actually did try to terminate my life until I met..."
"Sky this town's a bust."
"Damon this is Lewis. Lewis you've heard of Damon."
"The legend himself." Eagerly Lewis shook Damon's hand.
"Nice to meet you. Are you two..."
"No!" I accidentally blurt out.
"Nah Sky is beautiful but not my type. For one she's not a man," Lewis laughs.
"I'll go play some pool while you two get aquatinted."

"What're you doing back here?"
"Danny was supposed to clear out my parents old house, but him and Hope are somewhere in Europe so it's up to me before we sell it."
"So Lewis?"
"Right. He found me one night with a wooden bullet lodged right below my heart. I guess I don't have the best aim. He talked me out of my state of mind and showed me what eternity has to offer. We went on a rampage for a very long time, especially when Danny was turned and Hope partied with us. I've seen so much of the world, and it's beautiful."
"And now?"
"And now I'm back."
"How long have you been back?"
"A week. At first we were packing but we figured we have a couple of years before we're off again so might as well stay for a bit."
"That's it?"
"Damon I know I screwed up with you, so I'm not here to disrupt you life. I've accepted that there's not going to be an us after all I've done."
"That's it? You've given up on us?"
"You haven't?"
"I- I don't know. Until today I thought you were a pile of ashes."
"Damon, if there's hope for us then I'm in for the long run. I will never mess up like I did."
"It's funny."
"What?"
"Like fate that we find each other exactly three hundred years later from the last time. Happy birthday Sky." Damon stood up from the bar and walked out.

"How was that?"
"Get comfortable, I'm not leaving Mystic Falls until I'm Mrs. Damon Salvatore."

Sky's house
"Skylar Jane André you better have an excuse for not finding me as soon as you got back into town!"
"Tyler!" He embraces me tightly and spins me around.
"Alright now explain yourself."
"I'm sorry I didn't expect any of you to be back so soon."
"You look good considering we all thought you had died."
"Yeah I should explain..."
"No need Damon filled us in."
"Everyone?" I'm nervous.
"In 3...2...1"

"Skylar!" Caroline barges into the house and tackles me with her vampire speed.
"Hey Care."
"Do my eyes deceive me? The real Caroline Forbes Salvatore and Tyler Lockwood? You guys are kick ass best friends!"
"And you are?"
"Care, Ty this is Lewis. He's been my life coach and closest friend these past three hundred years."
"Let's get one thing straight, I'm Skylar's best friend."
"Noted."
"Ty be nice."
"Hi I'm Caroline and this," She turns towards the door. "Is my husband."
"Stefan Salvatore! The hair! I see it now! I pictured it way different."
"Nice to meet you. Happy birthday Sky."
"Thanks Stefan, this is Lewis Branson."
"Branson? Like Lexi Branson?"
"My big sis. You know her?"
"Lexi's my best friend."
"You're the Stefan she was always talking about?" Lewis was having a fan boy moment.
"I had no idea she had a brother."
"Lexi wasn't very proud of me back then. I'm a new man, but I guess she'll never know that."
"I bet she does," Stephen shook Lewis' hand.
"You all don't understand I'm like all of your biggest fans."
"I can't believe you're here and alive, well vampire alive."
"Yeah I cant believe it some days either. Have any of you talked to Damon?"
"He told us the whole story."
"Even the part about us?"
"You two?"
"Excuse me," Stefan leaves.

"So he didn't completely shut down the idea of us. I told him if I got the chance I'd never let him go ever again. I needed to see all that vampirism had to offer and I couldn't do that with Damon, but I've figured things out and now I can be fully committed to him."
"That's insane! He was a complete wreck when you left. He hunted you down in India a little after you life, but by the time he could catch up to you you'd left."
"Looking for the nonexistent cure at that time."
"After that he was destroyed. He'd stalked your family for any signs of you."
"I know, my mom noticed. She told me and we'd have secret rendezvous."
"We never found out if you told them about yourself or not."
"I told them about me. At first they were as expected, scared and angry but they got over it. I was by their sides when they both passed away. Danny too."
"When did he turn?"
"A couple of months after our birthday."
"Is he still with Hope?"
"Yeah. They're amazing for each other."
"I can't imagine Klaus giving his daughter away at her wedding."
"He wanted to rip out Danny's heart but now they're like father and son."

"I'm so glad you're back," Caroline smoothers me in a hug.
"Me too," Tyler wraps us both in his arms.
"For now."
