"Hey Sky!"
"Hey Guys. How's it going?"
"Well now that you know we're vampires and we can get to know you, Stefan wants to quit school. I said we should stay because you need friends and protection. The Mikaelson's are unpredictable."
"You guys really don't have to stay in school for me. I can't imagine how many times you've gone."
"Told you," Stefan smirks at Caroline.
"I've only gone once!"
"And I've gone more times then I can count. I'm not going."
"Fine it's your choice," Caroline says in her mom voice.

~At School~

"I said it was your choice."
"It was never my choice was it?" She shakes her head.
"Lighten up you two it's gonna be a long week." The three of us walk into the school.

"Hey Sky."
"What's up Tyler?"
"Are you dating Damon?"
"No. Not now or maybe ever."
"Do you have feelings for him?"
"I don't know what I feel right now. I moved here to work on me, so that's exactly what I'm going to do. Guys don't really mix in right now."
"Yeah I get it. But if you ever want to hang out or something I'll be free."
"Thank you Tyler. So what about you? Any girls?"
"I was in love once upon a time. I thought she could be the one, but she sacrificed her life for me. I'll always be in love with Liv." He gushes over her on our way to first period. It's sweet the way he talked about her, I hope one day a guy talks about me that way.

~Cemetery~

"She's amazing Elena. I think you would've liked her. I know you might be rolling your eyes wherever you are, but she only looks like you. Skylar is her own person inside and out. She's got edge but it's very classy. She's beautiful... I miss you Elena. Every single second. I have to move on and live my life, but you'll always be with me. Skylar is my future now. Goodbye Elena."

~After School~

"Hey you coming with us?"
"Where are you headed?"
"Stefan, Tyler, and I always hang out around the boarding house after school."
"I'll pass."
"What why?"
"Damon and I are kinda on a break from whatever it was that we were."
"Oh come on we want to be your friends. We won't leave you alone with him."
"Care..."
"Please!"
"Okay fine but don't leave my side."
"Deal!"

~Salvatore Boarding House~

"Skylar."
"I told them I shouldn't come."
"No I'm just shocked. If it's awkward I can leave."
"It's your house Damon. I can leave."
"How about we all stay and hang out. We need normal" Caroline suggests.
"Normal? Three vampires, a hybrid, and a human all in one house is normal?"
"It's our normal, and I guess yours too."

"Care can you help us with something?" Stefan hollers for her.
"Sure!"
"Caroline!"
"I'll be right back." She leaves Damon and I alone.

"How are you?"
"Struggling a bit in school but I'm staying afloat."
"You know I don't mean school."
"Truth?"
"Please."
"I hate every day that we aren't together. I wish we could be but I don't know. I need to work on myself before I can handle a relationship."
"We can work it together. I want to help you be the best you, like El..."
"Like Elena was for you? Yeah I know. Thank you but I need to do this alone."
"Sky I'm just saying you don't have to do this alone. We all love you here and want the best for you."
"Really? Would you all be doing this if I had a different face? If I wasn't a Petrova doppelgänger. No you would let the sad little human live her life and mess it up as she pleases. You're only doing this because I look like Elena, all of you." I turn to face the two vampires and hybrid behind me. "This isn't 'friendship' this is replacement. You all think I can be a fill in Elena. Well I can't and I won't." I'm now making my way out of the house after my little outburst. It was time that I said what I had been thinking and feeling. I thought maybe I could ignore the fact that I look like Elena and that it was probably the reason they hung out with me, but I won't do that to myself or them.
