"Momma, Daddy's here!" Eleanor said.
"Yeah Momma." Chris mocked.
"You two go ahead, I'll be down in a minute." I told the the pair.
Once they left, I changed out of my sweats and into more presentable clothing. Then I brushed my hair and teeth.

"Morning Vick." Eddie said once I came down the stairs.
"Hardly." I mumbled.
"Sorry I'm late!" A brunette stumbled in looking like a hot mess.
She looked me up and down with disgust. A look which I returned.
"This is my friend, Beth." Eddie introduced her, putting emphasis on the word friend. Bullshit. That's strike one Vedder.

"Chris, kitchen please." I told him, walking in.
"What's up?" He asked once we were in a private area.
"Beth. I'm not sure I want Eleanor going anywhere with her." I told him. But can you blame me?
"Don't worry 'bout it Vicky. I'll make sure nothing goes wrong. Promise." He smiled.
"Okay. I'm counting on you Cornell." I joked, hitting his arm.
"Yeah yeah," he said.
"Be back later this evening, bye ladies." Chris told us.
"Bye Chrispy!" I said back.
"Chrispy?" Beth asked quizzically.
I just laughed.

"Party!" Susan shouted, then laid out on the couch.
I like her definition of a party.
"Okay for real though. We need to talk." She said, sitting up.
"Greeeeat." I said sarcastically.
"Be honest," she warned.
"Of course." I said.
"Cool. Do you still like Eddie?" She asked.
"Um,"
"Tell meeee." She urged.
"I guess? He is El's dad..."
"Great. So like, you two need to get back together." She said.
"Problem," I pointed out.
"What's that?"
"Beth." I rolled my eyes.

"He said it himself, just friends." Susan said.
"You saw the way she was hanging on him." I said nonchalantly.
"Okay okay maybe." She agreed.

She seemed to get lost in thought before she directed her attention back to me.
"I got it!" She said, holding her index finger up.
"Make Eddie jealous." She said as if it were the easiest thing to accomplish.

"How?" I asked. Then the phone rang.
"One sec." she excused herself, running to answer the phone.

I sighed.
"You can come over." I heard Susan say.
"Who can come over?" I called out.
"Don't worry about it." She said, walking back in.
"Okay," I said, warily.
"Anyway, back to Eddie and making him Jealous."
"Yeah, well it was your idea so you can plan that out." I told her.
"Fair enough."

She paused for a moment.
"So first we need a partner in this crime," she said.
The phone rang again. As if on que, she ran to answer it.
It was just Chris saying all was well and they'd be home about an hour later than they expected. While they were saying their goodbyes, there was a knock on the door and I was basically forced to go open it.

I sighed. This must be the person she called.
I opened the door, trying to look happier than I really was.
I instantly recognized him, though it'd been years and I doubted he'd remember me.

"Hey, is Susan around? She said she would be." He said awkwardly.
He totally didn't remember me.
"Oh, yeah. Come in. She's just talking to Chris, I'll go get her." I told him.
His once long straight brown hair was now cut short, he was aging well.

"Susan, someone is here to see you." I told her.
"Tell me you remember him,"
"Ask him." I said.
I won't lie, I was a little hurt, but I can't blame him. I'd changed so much since then.
