But when it's my time
To throw the next stone
I call you beautiful
If I call at all
You call me dog

~Eddie's POV~

Chris and I had the best day with the girls. Eleanor was such a good kid, and so was Lily. Beth kinda did her own thing, Chris was extremely defense of Eleanor, Beth never got to talk to her.
Beth and I were kind of a thing. I just didn't want Vicky to get upset.
Eleanor was asleep and Lily was drawing quietly when we pulled into the driveway, Beth went home.
I carried El while she still slept, and Chris led Lily into the house.
"We're back!" Chris whisper-shouted, aware that Eleanor was still catching Z's in my arms.
Susan was sitting on the couch, looking just as tired as the kid I was holding.

"Where's Vicky?" I asked.
"Studio." Susan answered, her eyes watching Eleanor closely.
"Why don't I take El so you can go see Vicky?" Susan suggested.
"Okay sure." I agreed, handing Eleanor to Susan. Chris and Lily had already sat down, and Lily looked like she was about to fall asleep too.

I turned on my heels and started walking down the oak steps.

~Vicky's POV~

I don't know how it happened. Well, that's a lie. I knew exactly how it happened. But I didn't know why it was happening, and especially why Matt was going along with it. We were both tense though, aware that at any second, Eddie would come down the stairs and see Matt and I in the middle of an intense make out.
I listened carefully, every movement Eddie made was easily tracked by his heavy Doc Marten's clambering down each wooden step.
When the light switched on I flinched. If he couldn't see us before, he certainly could now. The nearly empty basement, aka Studio, was suddenly illuminated by bright LED lights, and unfortunately, the switch to the room controlled all the lights down here, so if the lights outside of the booth weren't bright enough to give Eddie a glimpse into what I was doing with the Soundgarden drummer, the lights inside sure were.

Confusion. There was no gasp, no shouting, no pulling Matt off of me and pinning him to a wall. Matt and I, both growing uncomfortable knowing Eddie was down here, stopped what we were doing. I peeked out the side, and there he was. Well-mannered, sitting on the bottom step staring at his torn up boots. Was he actually waiting for me? He's ridiculous.

Matt saw too, and we clearly had the same idea. We sat down, backs against the wall, not making a sound. Now we were in hopes that Eddie would just go. It was no longer a game of 'how jealous can we make him', but instead 'how awkward can this get'.

So many questions left unanswered. Matt and I obviously needed to talk. And besides that, why was Eddie waiting? I wasn't bound to him, I wasn't some burden. He could leave. But maybe he too had some questions arising in the series of events that previously went down.

Then the lights turned off and the heavy boots went back up.
Thank god.
Matt and I were silent for a few minutes until we were sure nobody was down here. We stood up, brushing our clothes off and he put the drum sticks back where he got them.
"What was that?" He asked, noticeably baffled.
"I'll get back to you on that," I said.
"Fair enough, is it bad that I liked it?"
I hung my head to hide the blush that was racing to my cheeks.
"Aw what's that?" Matt teased.
"Shut up."

"Not in the booth!" We jumped at the new voice. Chris was standing outside, with an amused look.
"Nothing happened, don't worry." Matt told his friend.
I elbowed Matt in the side, getting a small laugh.
Chris followed us up, making sure everything was turned off. He was picky about that kind of stuff.

Once we were upstairs, Susan glared.
"Nothing happened, mom. Can I go now? It's getting late." Matt said sarcastically.
"Sure." Susan smiled.
"K. Bye Vicky." He said.
"Bye Matt."
"Call me," he whispered before pulling me into a hug.
I laughed. He's crazy.

What a reunion.
