"Pssst, Vicky.." my eyes snapped open to see Eddie above me, leaning over the bed.
"What?" I whispered back, moving his hair from my face.
"Beth called and she said she was leaving for good!" He said, a beaming smile flashing across his glowing face.
"Dude, shut up, you're gonna wake them up." I scolded him, turning over. Which ultimately failed. He just fell on top of me.
"They're not even sleeping it's like," there was a pause and I waited for him to finish.
"It's like twelve. In the afternoon."
His back was against mine, and I tried to tune out his words."Vickyyy, Eleanor is coming back today!" He said.
This woke me up. I was particularly excited to see my daughter again. And I was happy that Eddie and I had put a bandaid over old wounds and came together for the sake of our happiness and for Eleanor."I can't get up if you're laying on me." I stated.
"Oh yeah,"
He got up and sat at the end of the bed, waiting for me to get up and out of the bed.Once I stood up, I stretched and walked for the bathroom.
"Where you going?"
"I'm going to brush my teeth, would you like to join me?" I asked sarcastically.
"Yes."
I groaned and stumbled into the bathroom, turning on the water and starting to brush my teeth. Eddie sat on the counter top, facing me."You know, you and El could always move in with me...if you wanted." He suggested, messing with his hair and avoided eye contact.
"What?" I said, unsure I heard what I thought I did. I turned off the water and walked back into the room, throwing on some new clothes.
"Well since Beth is leaving, I figured it'd be nice if you and Eleanor stayed with me. It's not far from here, you know." He explained.
"I'll have to think about it. And you'd have to ask El." I told him.
"Understood. I'll do that." He nodded.
"Have you already mentioned it to Chris and Susan?" I asked.
"Yup."
He's gone absolutely mad.
Regardless, I followed him down, just in time to see Eleanor run through the door.
"Daddy!" She yelled. Normally, I would be hurt by her choosing someone over me, but I had her for 5 years, Eddie deserves some love too.Eddie happily hugged El, and knelt down to face her.
"How would you like to live with Daddy?" He asked her.
Her blue eyes sparkled as she nodded, sending her curls flying.Eddie looked over his shoulder at me with a cheesy grin.
"Fine." I mouthed."Yay!" He cheered, pulling Eleanor off her feet and holding her.
"You guys are finally gonna leave us?" Chris joked. I was still shocked seeing the short hair, but I think I can get used to it. It suits him."I guess so." I said.
"When are you gonna move out? That sounded mean. I certainly don't want you to leave, but I mean, you're happy so." Susan added.I looked at Eddie for answer, but he didn't have one.
"Whenever is most convenient." He shrugged.
