Slate is an IceWing who watched his father be demoted from Third, to Fifth Circle within a matter of hours due to an injury. It was then that he, just a dragonet at the time, realized the corruptness of the IceWing hierarchy
Slate grew up to lead a rebellion against the nobles and Second Circles. But his movement was extinguished when Slate was captured, and beheaded Luckily for Slate, the executioner was reaaaallly bad at his job. While the IceWing's neck was hacked up, he wasn't dead. After spending years recovering from his near death, Slate began to rebuild his uprising, but in the shadows. He now watches over the Borderland Den, a small city of rogue IceWings, living on Sand Kingdom borders
