Hello, humans

Sparrow speaking
The Mozziu human handed me this device and told me to type for you. The title was already there. I took the hint

Yes, the art above is mine, it is an anatomically correct portrait of me. Scavengers are apparently incapable of drawing things as they are

So, I am mostly sure that this chapter is supposed to be a Hallows Eve type thing? I've seen other profiles feature creatures like me to talk about things in a celebration of it.

But I'm doing something different.

See, the Mozziu human and I don't share too many things in common, but we both agree that scavenger holidays are stupid
Why would you celebrate the spirits of the dead? And child sacrificing?! Holy moons you all apparently don't realize it. You scavengers used to burn your children alive as a sacrifice to their gods. The leftover child fat was fashioned into a candle and placed inside a hollow gourd to keep the demons appeased!
It's gruesome, even for the standards of a bloodthirsty soldier like my battalion. My tribe is very superstitious. We don't dare mess with dangerous things like spirits and demons and the dead

I have a story for you humans about what my battalion and the SkyWings do instead of Hallows Eve.

Every year, after we stay inside on the wicked night, my battalion heads home to the palace for a harvest feast. Every year, after we hoard stockpiles of food for the winter, we eat all leftovers in a large feast in the palace.

Don't ask me why my tribe needs to keep food for winter. Probably because all of the animals we hunt move too far south past our borders

The feast is always lively and warm. Owl has won the mead-drinking game every year. Father likes to participate in the arena grapples, and we make a game out of how long he lasts before passing out drunk.
The arena grapples aren't to the death. The last thing any of us want is death. Instead we celebrate life through the winter, and feasts are always kid friendly. Lots of mothers bring their dragonets and even unhatched eggs to the feast, partly because the palace is so warm, even in the dead of winter.

My favorite part of the feast is, the food of course. Nothing beats how well the palace cooks prepare things! So much better than the way Corundum burns crap with her shoddy firebreath

Alright, enough rambling.
The Mozziu human says I need to socialize with more than my battalion.

This is the part of the chapter where I say that you guys talk to me.
In the 'comment section' I think.
I'll tell you stories about things
Childhood
Family
My battalion
Other feasts and stuff
Whatever you'd like

Okay
I'm gone
See you guys
