*Fade In*
I opened my eyes. This was not my room. I sat up slightly but immediately feel back down because my head was throbbing.
I groaned.
"Ellie!" a hopeful voice asked and I looked to my right. There sat Jayda.
"Jayda!" I whispered back, a smile spreading over my face.
"How are you doing, babe? Wait, don't answer that. You're in a hospital, what am I thinking," she grinned.
I laughed, which sounded more like a wheeze.
She couldn't wipe the smile off her face, "I'm so glad you're awake! You've been in a slight coma for two days. The boys and I have been getting really worried."
"Boys?" I asked hoarsely.
She slightly frowned, "Niall, Zayn, Liam, Louis, and Harry?"
I groaned and threw my head back onto my pillow.
"Still mad?"
"Oh yeah."
She chuckled, "I don't blame you. Though, don't be mad at Liam, Louis, or Zayn, they all tried to get you out of there. Well, Harry and Niall did too, but the other three took charge...."
I looked at her. "Really?"
She nodded and smiled. "Do you remember anything?"
I looked down, "Yeah. Vaguely."
"Good," she smiled and said, "I'm going to go get the nurse. I was supposed to come get her as soon as you woke up."
I pretended to glare at her, "You bad girl."
"Oh, I know right?" she teased, "I'm such a bad girl. Shoot me."
I made my fingers into a fake gun and pretended to shoot her. She stumbled out, clutching her chest, grinning like an idiot.
I laughed and looked around my room. There were ten vases of flowers, a handful of teddy bears, and who knows how many balloons that were located all over the room. A puzzled looked fell over my face just as the nurse walked in with five boys tumbling in behind her.
"Boys! You aren't allowed in here at this time! I need to make sure -"
"Ellie!" they all chorused, their faces covered in smiles.
I gave a weak wave and they raced to my bed, kneeling next to me, Niall and Louis on one side, Liam, Zayn and Harry on the other.
The nurse shouted, "Hey!"
We all looked at her and she crosser her arms, "If you five don't want to get kicked out, I'd suggest you all go stand in that corner over there until I'm done."
They all nodded and then they all kissed my forehead as they stood up, heading to the corner.
I tensed when Harry's lips neared my head, "I'm sorry about everything. Forgive me?"
I looked up at him as he walked away and I met his eyes. I gave him a hesitant nod and he grinned, a bounce coming back into his step.
Louis kissed my forehead and then Niall came over and whispered, "I didn't mean to leave you there. It's the only way I knew how to get us both out. I'm sorry," before his lips hit my temple.
Liam and Zayn took their turn and they all retreated to the corner and watched carefully. Liam the most, being the fatherly figure he is.
The nurse finally made her way over to me. I noticed her name tag said 'Beth'.
She smiled at me and put a blood pressure cuff around my arm, "Glad to see you awake."
I nodded, "Glad to be awake. Was I really out for two days?"
"Yeah," she said grimly, "The doctors were very worried as were the boys over here and your friend. Jayda is it?"
"Yeah," I smiled. "And, were the boys really that worried?"
She stopped pumping the blood cuff and stared at me. "Honey, we were afraid we'd have to kick those boys outta here. They are in this room night and day. They haven't left since they brought you here."
Just then I noticed their clothes were wrinkled and they had a slight stench to them. And let me tell you, five stinking boys are not the best smelling.
She continued at her job again, "And when they heard you were awake, they were down in the hospital cafeteria by the way, they dropped whatever they had and raced up here." She chuckled, "Those hooligans."
She pulled out her stethoscope and placed it on my chest and said, "And I'm guessing you've seen the flowers? Each one has ordered a vase to be delivered each day. The black haired one said that he wanted the room to be pretty when you woke up."
I laughed slightly and looked back over at the flowers and then the door opened again. This time, Jayda came walking back in and walked over to me, sitting down in the open chair.
Louis pouted from the corner, "How come she gets to be over there!"
The nurse glared at him, "She gets to be over here because I know she's not going to give this innocent girl a heart attack."
"We won't give her a heart attack!" Louis pleaded.
"Shut it or I'm calling someone to escort you out."
That shut them up.
Beth turned back to me and finished up and made sure I was unhooked from all the machines. "Now Ms. Keddington, you are allowed to stand up but make sure you have help and do not leave this room or take a shower. We want to prevent falling. And other than that, you should be fine. The doctor should be in, in a few hours. He needs to finished up a few other patients before he gets to you."
I smiled, "Thank you, Beth."
She nodded and started walking to the door. She looked at the boys, "You are now free to see her. Although, if anything happens, I'm going to personally skin you all. Am I clear?"
They all nodded vigorously.
Beth walked out and closed the door behind her. The boys watched the door for a minute to make sure they weren't coming back. When they were sure, they came running towards me.
"Stop!" I yelled as loudly as I could and they all stopped in their tracks. I eyed them. "Before any of you get within a five foot radius of me, I want you all to go home and shower. You guys reek."
Before you could say 'Potato', they all went racing out the door and down the hallway, getting yelled at by Beth in the meantime.
Next to me, Jayda chuckled and held out a fist for me to bump, which I did.
"You go girl. It was time for those boys to get told on what to do."
