My jaw dropped as I looked at the picture of Liam and Jayda. It was the night I helped Jayda pick out her outfit. It was the same black dress.
I looked over at her and she was staring at her laptop screen with a straight face, a few tears streaming down her face.
"Why didn't you tell me," I whispered.
She shook her head.
"What didn't you tell me!" I said shaikily.
She turned to me, "Because I didn't want you to be mad at me."
"Jayda, I wouldn't be mad at you if you told me in the first place! I knew you liked Liam, but I didn't think there was anything serious going on!"
"It wasn't supposed to be," she whispered, more tears coming.
"What about Leo!"
She looked at me, "Leo? Leo! Ellie, Leo was the name I made up for Liam so you wouldn't ask questions! I can't believe you're that stupid!"
My heart fell and I stood up, laptop in hands and quipped, "Yes, I'm obviously stupid, says the girl who kept a sercet relationship from me with a guy who probably kept a secret relationship from all of his friends. I'm clearly the stupid one." I walked away from Jayda and into my room, locking my door behind me.
I heard her feet pound down the hallway to my room. She went for the door knob and when she found it was locked, she pounded on the door. "Ellie!"
"What?" I called back plainly.
"Let me explain! Please!"
"What is there to explain. You lied to me and went behind my back."
She stayed quiet for a minute before whispering, "I know and I'm really sorry. Just please, please let me explain."
I sat on my bed for a minute before getting up and unlocking the door. I leaned against the door frame and looked at her, "You have five minutes."
She immediatly started talking and I just decided to keep quiet and listen.
"Ellie, I'm really sorry, but this is how it happened. So when we were in the mall a few days ago, we left Liam in Forever 21, you know? So when we got home, I texted him saying I was really sorry and all. I explained to him that we had an emergency meeting with Carla and he forgave me. Though apparently, Harry cracked and told the rest of the lads about what he did.
Liam felt really bad and wanted to treat both of us to dinner, but I didn't think you wanted to be near any of them, so I told him you didn't want to come, and he understood. So we went to the resteraunt and he apologized so many times. Ellie, he's really sorry, and he said Harry feels really bad about it.
But then later that night, around eleven or so, we both had to get home but we weren't exactly done with our conversation. So we've been meeting everynight, our conversation topics ranging from what we had for breakfast to what we what to do with our singing careers.
And Ellie, that picture you saw, it was never supposed to happen. We both just started leaning in and it happened! He immediatly regretted it, because he had a girlfriend. We both agreed to not speak of it again and we would stay just friends. So we met up again for a few more nights. I thought we were only supposed to be friends until he ended it with Dani and he sent me this text."
She stopped talking and pulled out her phone. The text read:
~~~
From: Liam Payne
Jayda I really want us to be more than friends. I ended it with Dani so now I won't feel guilty loving you.
