Emerald

"Bye Adeline get home safe."

"I will bye Emerald." she responded with a soft smile.

Emerald.

Emerald.

Emerald!

Suddenly I snapped out of memories as my boss called out to me.

"This isn't Dream Land kiddo, we have customers."

"Got it! I'll get back to work immediately." I responded as I hustled to assist my customers, though I was still stuck in my thoughts.

It's been almost a week since that night with Adeline, where was she? She hasn't been to the coffee shop or anywhere in the area. I hope she's okay, I miss her.

*click clack click clack*

I snapped my head at the sound of those boots from outside the coffee shop, hoping it was Adeline. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

"Adeline where are you?" I sadly whispered to myself.  "Boss, I'm going on my break now!" I shouted towards the back and walked out before my boss could answer.

I miss her so much, I can't stand not seeing her or being around her, especially after that night. How could she leave me like this? How can she not reach out me after such an intimate moment that we shared? Should I go to her apartment? No I can't do that, maybe she doesn't want to see me? Is she mad at me?

*Laughter in the distance*

"That laugh it sounds like Adeline's laugh, is she here?"

I looked around but it seems it was only the children in the grass laughing... Adeline's laugh. Oh how I miss her sweet laugh...
