Adeline:
I woke up unaware of where I was, honestly I thought I was in heaven. The sun was high in the sky and everything was white, but it wasn't long until I realized where I was and what happened. I looked down and saw Emerald laying there in my arms, she was awake.
"Good morning." I didn't know what else to say I hope she wasn't regretting what we did. After a few seconds she answered, and luckily it was with a small smile.
"Good afternoon." I chuckled, it was the afternoon. So much for making it to school.
We laid in the bed in silence for a long while, until she said, "We can't do this. You're not old enough."
Shocked I didn't know what to do, but I did feel my heart break a little.
"But who's gonna know?" I asked softly.
"I will." she said.
I didn't want to think about that right now. I just had the best night of my life and here I was being told that it can't happen again. I didn't feel like being alone again. I have the rest of my life to feel that way, just for one moment in time, this moment in time, I wasn't going to feel that way.
"Emerald-"
"No, Addie-"
"Emerald, shut up for a minute." I said softly, and she complied.
"Humor me, just for a moment. If you never do again, then just give me this moment in time."
She shifted in my arms settling in, signaling she would comply until I finished.
"Humor me just a bit Emerald..... If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?" She looked at me for a second puzzled as to where I was going with this, but she answered anyway.
"I've always wanted to go to Italy. When I was in High School, I had this friend who went to vacation there every summer, and she made it sound like it was the best place on earth. Ever since, I've always wanted to go, could never afford it though."
I smiled. I couldn't help but smile, she had a dream, and it was a beautiful dream.
"Lets go then." She looked at me confused, "Let's go right now."
"Adeline, what are you talking about? We can't go now, with what money? And what about work? And what about Fish? Where would he go?"
I continued to laugh at her. I was enjoying her confusion more than anything else in the world.
Emerald:
I was immensely confused at what Adeline was telling me, but she just sat there and laughed at my confusion. I couldn't fathom what was so funny, so I just sat there and waited for an explanation.
Finally, she calmed down and explained.
"Not really leave and go, let's just imagine. If you can humor me the least I can do is humor you."
Finally understanding her, I shifted my face away from hers and stared at my blank white ceiling and thought about if I was actually about to sit here and imagine with her.
"I want to sit on the terrace of a really fancy restaurant, with a nice white sundress being the stereotypical american ordering spaghetti and meatballs, with garlic bread and red wine." I gave in. I mean like why not? Where's the harm in a little imagining?
Adeline moved a little bit pulling me closer and putting her nose in my hair, "What else?" She said oh so softly.
I let my body ease up and relax into her hug, I could hear her heart.
"I want to walk late at night with my sandals in my hand on their white sand beaches, while looking at the stars in the night sky. I want to try and find all the constellations when I can barely find the big dipper. I just want to get away, and feel like I have no worries for as long as I live. I want to live in the moment of my happiness there."
By the time I finished talking, Adeline was asleep. So I decided to just let her sleep and feeling cozy next to her, I ended up drifting off as well.
