I made a little compromise with TedStrange so it all worked out in the end.

These are the my Picks for the Top 5 Movies and TV Shows That Surpassed Everyone's Expectations, basically I'm talking about shows and movies that pretty much made everyone say, "WOAH, that came out of nowhere."

Also I'm not adding Avatar to the list because we all knew that was going to be a success, also I'm talking about James Cameron's Avatar, not the Nick cartoon.

5) Ducktales (2017)

Lets be honest when we hear reboot, we all roll our eyes in annoyance, but the 2017 incarnation of Ducktales actually worked because it has great story development and fixed up the flaws the original 1987 show had, mainly Webby, who I nicknamed Duck Mabel. The show is on par with actually good reboots like 2012's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon or 2010's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for example. Another prime example for good reboot is:

4) Voltron: Legendary Defender:

Like I said last season in my top 5 best cartoons of the 2010's so far vol. 2, I only watch this show via clips because I don't have a Netflix account, but I did find out it is availible for purchase on Google Play and I Think iTunes, but I rather wait til I get my own account or bum off someone's for a day or two. Back to the point here, This show is a great example of a reboot, now when everyone heard Dreamworks was making a reboot of Voltron for Netflix everyone thought it was going to be trash, boy were they wrong as This show has developed that strong of a fan base. Probably because the people behind show worked on Avatar the Last Aorbender and Legend of Korra, oh and uh, I checked there will be a Voltron movie, made by Dreamworks coming in the future. And yes Dreamworks owns the rights to Voltron now, which explains why the robot made an appearance in 2017's The Boss Baby.

3) Split:

Okay, let's be honest, M Night Shyamalan, wasn't on a good movie streak for years, with tremendous flops such as The Happening, After Earth, and of course The Last Airbender, Nickelodeon better take my idea for an inbetweenguel soon, as long as I get credit. But this movie, released back in January of all months surprisingly, this movie came out and woah that was awesome, man looks like someone earned a cookie, I take it he learned from his mistakes, which is a good thing, and finally decided, "You know what, I am done making sci-fi fantasy Crap." Now that's a twist ending.

2) Star vs The Forces Of Evil:

That's right! This was a suprize on Disney's part, luckily the story behind it is short and sweet like a donut hole filled with jelly. When the show had its first glimpse at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, the show's fandom, Litterally started right then and there. No joke after the intro leaked onto YouTube, the show instantly got fanart/fanfiction/disturbing fanfiction/etc you name it, they got it from the intro alone.

1) Guardians of the Galaxy:

What a bunch of A-Holes! Did anyone actually know who the Guardians of the Galaxy before the movie that isn't a comic book obsessed nerd who lives in there mom's basement?

Thought so, god I freaking love this movie, awesome soundtrack, awesome characters, Groot, FREAKING GROOT! The sequel also added to the awesomeness, even though most of the reason it made son much money was because of, well....
