No magic? No problem

Chapter 16

I sink further in the tub with Oki sitting on my knees as he plays with a washrag that's covered in suds. He keeps trying to wash my knees but the rag is stuck in his claws. I smile softly as he gives up he just sets the rag down and sits on it letting out a little sigh.

"You know what I would love right now?" He asks me and I shake my head.

"I would love a cupcake right now." He says

"Really cupcakes?" I ask

"Well,  cupcakes or cake. Or brownies. Or cookies. But mostly cupcakes or cake." He says

"So you like anything super sweet?

"Yes! And lots of sugar!"

"I have a feeling the sugar goes straight to your bloodstream." I say giggling

"Oh, yes! But I love it so much and I never really eat a lot of it." He says

"Well, maybe we can get Gale make a cake. He makes the best cakes except for once he forgot that I can't eat metal and the cake he made had so much metal in it his mom thought I was trying to turn myself into a human magnet. It took both her and Gajeel three hours to get it all out." I laugh and he laughs with me

"So I have to ask. How come you can't use magic?"

"Well, I can use magic just things like magical items or spells that require no magical abilities from the person. I don't know why but I was born without magic. Some say that I'm not really Natus and Lucy's daughter that I was stolen from some family because their real daughter died." I explain

"How can people say you're not their daughter!" He shouts and I shrug

"Because I don't really act like them. My personality isn't based off either of theirs. Natsu sees everything in black or white you are either good or bad. He judges everything by what is happening now not what has happened or will. Lucy sees everyone as good until they prove otherwise. Even bad people she meets right away she believes they are good. Me? I see things in bright vivid color or least I've been told. I believe things are more than what they see. I'm willing to give anybody a chance no matter their past." I say

"Give me two more reasons." HE demands

"I have no magic even though I was born to two very strong wizards who previously had kids who both have magic abilities."

"One more."

"I had this really weird dream when I was dead. Right after the games. I was in a room with a man and he kept telling me I was his daughter how my real mother never wanted me. So he used some sort of magic to make me and Lucy's real daughter one person. It was so real. He kept telling me that I'm going to kill Natsu." I say shuddering

"I admit it does sound scary but it was just a dream right?" He asks crawling out of the bath and getting some towels.

I unplug the water and grab a towel wrapping it around me.

"I hope so." I say

He just watches me as I get dressed his head tilted. I make a funny face at him but he still looks at me as if I have a third eye on my forehead. As we head out of the bathroom the door opens and slams shut. We both look to see Gale holding a few bags with a pissed look on his face.

"Stupid waitress flirting with me even after I told her I have a girlfriend. Sitting there making me out to be the bad pfft." He mutters as he locks the door.

"When did you get a girlfriend? Do I know her?" I ask

He turns around and sighs.

"I don't have a girlfriend I just told the waitress I did to get her off my back. Sadly she doesn't care about morals or anything like that." He says rubbing me head.

"Well does anyone catch your eye?" I ask genuinely curious

"Yeah, there is. Sadly I don't think she would want to be with me." He says taking the food out of the bags

"But you're such a catch!" I say

"You really think so?." He asks and I feel my face go red and I don't answer him. "Hey, you okay?"

He places a hand on my forehead which I'm sure is hot due to all the blood rushing to my face. I don't look at him but I hear him chuckle. 

"What you afraid some girls gonna have me following her along like a dog? Gonna take me away from you?" He asks poking my cheeks

 "Shut up." I say pulling out of his grip. 

"Aww come on now you know you'll find some cute boy who will probably come riding in with a white exceed and sweep you off your feet taking you to a faraway land where you two will have three kids. Two rough boys who will I believe you liked the names Henry and Damon and sweet little girl with her father's hair mothers eyes who will be called Quinn." He says 

"What do you know! Maybe I don't want all that!" I yell looking at him 

He blinks at me before rubbing the back of his head doing anything he can to avoid eye contact. 

"Yeah, you're right. How about we just eat hmm?" He asks as I make my way over to the table and sit down with force than was necessary. He doesn't say anything just starts serving the food. Oki scoots away from me but tries to make it like he's grabbing a napkin from the middle. Just as I am about to enjoy the first bite a very loud knock that almost bust the doors open followed by a shout comes from outside. I groan and set my fork door and swing the door open before Gale has a second to react. Standing in the way in none other than Natsu himself.

"Luna I've been so worried about you!" He yells before pulling me into a hug. 

"Leave me alone." I say trying to push him away 

"Honey please..." 

"I SAID GO AWAY!" I scream and this time when I push him he moves back black magic residue on his clothes. 

"Luna your eyes. Why are they black?"
